I would say on average about 1/2 are LB's in front of Thermae and the adjoining streets. Just ask if in doubt. However, some are cleverly disguised as they are Post-op and may not be totally honest about their gender.

I agree with the below poster. First, you generally are going to want to request a five day package hotel stay at beginning of your stay. It's better than moving somewhere for a few days and then moving back for the Day5 test, and exposing yourself to unnecessary exposure risks. These designated hotels vary quite a bit in price but I would stay at a better one for the food, ambience, and hopefully a nice pool. Then, of course, there is the Covid insurance, which will vary depending on the length of your stay. There is also the PCR testing x 2 but I think some of the hotels offer that testing as part of their package deal for the hotel. I would not include flight costs in your budget as one has to pay for that regardless though it can be argued that airfares are generally higher than in the past.
In the end, it is the hotels best interest for the Thai government to continue this draconian Covid policy as long as possible as they stand to benefit significantly from the added revenue. Of course, smaller non corporate owned hotels are usually not part of this program. For what's it's worth, hotel prices, even for five star, are much less than in years past so take advantage of that phenomena for as long as it lasts.

Meanwhile, I will stay away as long as Thailand mandates use of inaccurate and ineffective measures such as looking at fake ATK tests at bars.

If you want to visit Thailand with these conditions and mandates hanging over your head, knock yourself out. But every fellow punter that I know is staying away from LOS as long as this BS reigns. Most of us have been vaxed 3 x and we feel enough is enough already. Travel is supposed to be all about having a good time. I know I could not really relax and feel totally comfortable in Thailand with these draconian measures hanging over my head. But that is just the view of yours truly and like I said all my punter friends.
As to the politics of it, ask yourself this: have the Thai mandates and lockdowns really worked? I don't think so. Maybe at first they did when the country was in total lockdown, but I know a lot of Thai girls and they know a ton more girls that have caught Omicron in the last month and half even after being vaxed twice. They were sick a few days, but after testing positive they had to spend 14 days a prisoner in a Covid hospital ward. Meanwhile Brazil is open and it rocks! I have been to Brazil 2 x in 2021 and I will be returning for a 3rd visit in April. All you need to enter Brazil is proof of vaccination and negative Covid test before departure from your home country. All the bars, bordellos, and massage shops are open and everyone is having a great time.
The only good thing I can say about Covid is that it opened my eyes to the possibilities elsewhere and broke my Thai addiction of more that 20 years. It is a matter of personal taste which country has prettier girls, Thailand or Brazil, but one thing is beyond debate: Brazilian girls are way better in bed. That's a fact, Jack. 555 / KKK. I would argue they are not female. They had an operation to remove their sexual organs and used these parts to create an artificial opening. Genetically, they remain male no matter how many hormones or surgical procedures they have. If you have ever seen photos of the surgeries, it generally does not look like the real McCoy. However, I will grant you that in the end it does not matter if both parties enjoy themselves.

And its not just an add on of recent times, the constitution even has three genders.

Most hid out away from the authorities and isolated at home.
Those that made themselves known had stronger symptoms and they were looking for the government cash handouts that came with hospitalization.
There was a lot of money (baht) available there as support for them early on so they chased it, and many got it.

But I speak specifically about some girls I know. For example my Mini, one of my favorite girls who I have known for over ten years. She came down with flu like symptoms' shortly after her return from visiting her family over New Years weekend. Because she was concerned about her health, she naïvely went and got tested. I warned her not to. She tested positive and the next thing she knew a van came to her apartment and picked her up. She was feeling much better by the 3rd day of her incarceration. Beginning on day 5 she begged the hospital to let her go back home. She cried at night. The girl she shared a room with was seriously ill. She had to wear a mask 24 hours a day except when eating. Lights were turned off at 9 pm. That is prison.
She has some form of health insurance which she thinks is the reason the hospital authorities kept her against her will in the hospital. But her insurance did not cover her full expenses and she is on the hook for the balance. So, I assure you she did not profit from her ordeal. In addition, she has 2 other girlfriends who I also have known quite well for many years and they too were forced to stay in Covid hospital ward for 14 days after testing positive after New Years and they too did not profit from their internment.
But the relevant point for all of us considering a visit back to LOS under the present draconian Covid measures in place is: do you want to take the risk of a 14 day forced Covid hospitalization if you should test positive to Covid at any time during your visit. Not me and not 99% of my monger pals. But I have nothing against any one who chooses to go at the present time. Enjoy your trip and stay well.

For that money I got a reasonable hotel on Soi 4, two PCR tests, transport from the airport and 5 nights with breakfast. With the air fare on top of that, now I just need to buy my insurance and apply for the entry pass. Wish me luck.
Thats how desperate and bored I am to get back to the hobby.
