Medellin Reports

I just returned from Medellin. Just a short 4 day trip to see my novia. Of course the monger came out of me. My novia had to move her stuff to a new apartment one day and left me alone. I will be making my first trip to MDE from Wed., Dec. 8th- Sun., Dec. 12th later this year. I speak decent Spanish and will be staying in an apartment in Poblado. What bars and/or pick-up spots are there in Medellin like Hotel Del Rey in San Jose, Costa Rica and LDV in Cartagena? I saw "Ladies Club" in Centro mentioned a few pages back but I guess it is only opened on the weekends according to the thread. I know of all the casas in MDE but prefer a take-out place similar to the Del Rey or LDV. Any help is much appreciated.

Sadly, my post was one that got deleted when Jacksin cleaned house. I will be in Medellin in Nov. For 5 weeks. I was planning on renting a condo while I was there. The complex's I was looking at are in El Poblado, or Ciudad del Rio. Is there anyone here who can tell me what these areas are like, and if they are inconveniently far from Zona Rosa?

Also has anyone dealt with Paradise Realty in Medellin before?

Returned last Sunday from my first trip to Medellin (MDE), San Andreas Island (ADZ) and Cartagena (CTG) so will divide the report into three sections for each area of COL.

First, my general comments are that in regard to the overall attractiveness of the women there is no comparison to anywhere else in SA that I have been. I have been to Lima many times, BA more than a few, and several other countries in SA but really felt the woman were much better looking in COL and offered more diversity in looks than these other locales. You can find blonds, redheads, black and morena girls, and some girls whose skin complexion is almost difficult to categorize. Try finding a real blond light skinned girl in Lima or a hot black girl for that matter.

As this was my first trip to MDE, I got a bit lucky in finding a decent small hotel ($35) in the heart of Parque Lleras with a liberal guest policy. This added immeasurably to enjoying the entertainment district in a safe, convenient, and friendly environment. In addition to scoring with a non-pro who I met in Parque Lleras (indeed almost all the girls who come to this area fits the non-pro definition), it was also a good jumping off point for other areas of the city. I did not partake too much in extra curricular activities as the non-pro kept me occupied but did venture to FASE DOS, one of the more expensive strip clubs in MDE. I found the talent there to be generally acceptable but also found it annoying that the girls come up to after dancing on a short runway and asking for tips. You could be on the other side of the bar not even paying attention but rest assured they will find you to request a propina. After several hours, the costs of these tips can add up.

I finally settled on an attractive strawberry blond by the name of Diana who had a Gwen Paltrow look. As it was late and near closing time, she arranged to meet me outside the bar after it closed to avoid paying the take out fee. That way, of course, she got all the proceeds as well. We proceeded to my hotel for one go around and the price was $75. She was not bad overall, and as it was late, I did not protest about having her stay around to the morning. We did arrange to meet again the next evening to go to Mangos. She basically acted as my date/GF for the evening at Mango's. I have to say that I thought Mango's was a blast and really fun. The gorgeous girl dancers are worth the price of admission alone. It's a must see if you go to MDE. She came back to the hotel again for another bit of horizontal refreshment and I was actually successful in getting her off. Alas, the GFE did not include a freebie and she still wanted $75. She actually wanted me to meet her daughter one day and take them on the cable ride but since she also appeared that she wanted to be paid every time I saw her, I decided to stick with the non-pro.

I also drove by Luna Lunera (sp?), another strip club recommended on this board, and my taxi driver, but did not have time to go in. While in MDE, I also tried to find another casa near the soccer stadium called Energie, but as it was Sunday, it was closed. However, it looked like a real dump. The taxi driver then took me to a casa called Oriente, which was located on a small lane above El Poblado but that too was closed on Sunday. I also went to the Botanical Gardens, which was a short walk from the metro stop at Universidad. I noticed quite a few attractive girls there on a Saturday afternoon and it may be a good place to meet regular girls. It was also free admission and there is a nice lunch spot at the gardens.

After that I proceed to San Andreas Island and was a bit concerned what it would be like there. Overall, I did not care for the island. Only 3 real beaches on the island and just not that much to do. However, I did meet a couple of guys who ran a tiki bar near the Coco Plum Hotel. One spoke pretty good english and he took me to a strip club/casa called Sexi, which was located near the airport. If I had known the actual location, I would gone by myself as it was easy to find. I ended up paying too much for the taxi as it was Monday and the taxi guy hung around while I selected my girl so it cost some more for the convenience of having him wait. Apparently, there are at least two other clubs/casa's on the island but of lower quality according to my guide. The waiter at Sexi tried to rip me off, which was corrected by the guide so I guess that was a benefit of having a guide. The other problem on the island is that the hotels generally suck and are overpriced. On top of that they want extra for guests. Almost the same price you pay as a single. As it was, I had to slip the night watchman a few bucks when I brought my girl back but slipped her out in the morning undetected.

I was fortunate that evening as I met a very sexy morena from MDE who was working at the club for three months. As it was explained to me, all the girls were from the mainland or 'continente as they say in Espanol. We negotiated a deal where she would be my girlfriend, more or less, for that evening and the following day. I think the cost was $200 (including the take out fee) from 9 that evening to 7pm the next day. She was great and I had a good time with her. Cute slim body, great ass, allowed photo's, pleasant personality, and I would call her again if I return to MDE. We went swimming the next day and she hung on to me in the water as if we were old lovers. A pleasant memory.

At the end of the trip, I journeyed to CTG. I stayed in a decent little hotel ($40 for a private room) for the first two nights in Getsemani, which is an old barrio just outside the walls to the ancient city called El Centro. I found the area to be safe and though it could look sketchy, I felt pretty comfortable walking around in the evening. The hotel was down the street from the Club Havana. A great salsa club. I went by myself and was accosted by a few prepago's of diminished quality who were offering me a massage in my room etc. But I declined. The last two nights, I was fortunate to find a private apartment with a loft in the old city for $70 per night. It was located in Plaza Madrid, a very nice little park in the northern part of the old town.

I was only in CTG for 4 nights and decided to finish up at the (in)famous LDV disco in Laguito. It really is not that hard to find and any decent taxi driver should get you there for $5 from El Centro. It's across the street from the Dann Hotel. I also decided that I did not have the energy to deal with Tony on the beach. But I will say that I saw some spectacular girls around the city with old and not really good looking guys though how they met these girls, I am not certain so maybe it is worth dealing with Tony. Overall, I found the city to be a blast and was the most interesting part of my trip.

Anyway, LDV lived up to their reputation. Really good looking woman of all types and varieties who would put Tequila Rocks to shame. There is just no comparison. I honed in on a pretty young co-ed type blond (again from MDE) though did not want to hang in LDV too long as the incessant noise, fake smoke, and atmosphere was not appealing to me. This may have reduced some of my negotiating skills as I wanted to beat it out of there as fast as possible. I recall that the blond agreed to an overnight for around $150. She also told me, quite matter of fact, that she was trying to make money to go to Panama for a while. As discussed on many occasions on the board, the problem is that the really pretty one's frequently don't really deliver service wise and for the most part, she was no exception. After a while, the fake squeals and moans were hard to take. She also would not allow photo's (again, forgot to ask), would not offer blowjobs of any type because she claimed she had a sore throat (WTF?). Forgot to ask that too. Next time, I will take a cheat sheet or write it on my hand like Sarah Palin.

All of these questions were not asked because I was in such a hurry to leave the club. On the plus side, she spoke really good English, which was a first for me in COL, as she had just completed an English course in MDE. One other thing: you have to buy an expensive drink at LDV ($15) before they can leave with you. I don't recall this being mentioned on the board before but was curious if I should have held my ground here or if that is the standard take out fee.

That my flight left too early in Sunday morning and I decided not to go out late. I would recommend, if at all possible, to book your departure flight for Monday morning leaving plenty of time to party on Saturday evening.

If it was closed when you went by, all you would see is some steps leading to a big wooden door.

Not dumpy looking at all, and it's actually one of the nicer facilities, especially compared to some of the casas in el Central.

The most popular empanada there is the empanada Argentina. Like the other popular empanada (Chilena) in that place, it is baked.

They do not work for LDV. Take out fees usually apply when a house offers in house service which LDV does not offer.

Most likely the girl scammed you for the drink of which she got her cut. The girl probably has already worked in Panama or Bogota or some other gringo destination where she has honed her low ball skills.

I can't see LDV management ok'ing the drink fee but a shady bartender may play into the scam. To be quite honest I hate the loud noisy and fake fog disco scene. When in Cartagena I go to LDV early and hang out in front so I can see the gals as they arrive a few times I just approached a hottie and took her back to my place without either of us stepping inside LDV.

One of the worse things to find in a por is that she speaks English. The questions flow like a faucet. My guess is one of the first things she asked was if you had ever been to LDV before. These are the kinda of girls that you really do have to negotiate EVEYTHING up front including no payment until AFTER the session. This gives the girl almost no leverage.

The one good thing about Cartagena or Colombia for that matter is that the girls seldom go nutso on you should you have to toss them out for renegging on a set deal. Unlike the many of the garotas (girls) in Rio that do a bait and switch and yet expect get paid and also threaten to get the police involved, the Colombianas are usually cool headed, unless of course they are drunk. Can't tell you how many of my buddies had a Brazillian chic trash their place. Many just paid them to get them to leave.

What kinda sucks about being at LDV and in Cartagena in general is that most of the hottest chicas are from Medellin. So unless you dig the old city or the dirty beaches then why leave Medellin and pay 2, 3 or 4 times as much for the same quality poon as what you find in Medellin?

Been here since Saturday morning. Overall it's a pretty good spot, but not totally what I was expecting. I've been to Cuba five times about 8 years ago and there the girls just flock to you on the streets. Every chick in Cuba was a semi pro. In mde you can go up to normal girls but it's not the same. They don't flock to you, you have to make all the effort. Definitely more work in mde. Mayorista is dirty and mostly ugly girls. Casas are good. Good quality for about $15 although you have to search through for a good one. Lots of dogs there too. Raining every fucking day which is not helping my mood. Will post more soon.
