I am planning to spend a month touring FKK clubs in Germany.

I have read the last two years of posts on this thread, but I couldn't find an answer to this question:

Is August a good month for FKK clubs?

I am worried that there may be some holidays or other reason that would make it a bad time of year for FKK clubs.

Can anyone give me any guidance? Is there a better month for me to go?

At the time of this writing though Artemis is more or less and indoor club. There are supposedly plans to build a big out dorr facility but at the moment this is just plans.

I am not sure about the Hessen clubs but imagine they are also ok. Let's face it there are advantages and disadvantages to any time of the year. Oase does have a very nice out door facility which I am sure is put to good use in August.

August, as any other holiday period, is a time when many girls are away on holiday. So for guys searching the best selection of girls this is a bad time to visit. Personally I would have picked May/June or September, which all are relatively warm months, but with a much greater selection of girls at the clubs.

Still I do share some of Angus' view on August. I too kinda like the laid back atmosphere among the girls, and of course in combination with the lovely outdoors at Oase / World. I mean, if Oase has 100 girls present on a Saturday night in prime season, my repeat / to do list will include 20- 30 girls. That is more than I can handle regretfully. :) In August there may be only half of this, but still plenty for me to do. No problem for my taste - except maybe in the early morning hours before the full line-up is present. Admittedly some guys are pickier than me and therefore avoid holidays.

Also, I do not mind the extra trolls that stroll the fields in summer (the "old girls" trying their luck and stepping in around holiday seasons). They are nice to talk with, even though I do not spend my money on them. But if you are disturbed by this, you may want to pick another time to visit.

One good idea I think is to keep to the larger clubs in August. Clubs with a great outdoor area obviously also attract a greater crowd. As girls are on holiday, the smaller clubs may struggle harder to maintain a decent line-up.

Not only are many girls on holiday, but so are alot of the male club visitors. Plus there are always problems with heat in the rooms (unless you go to Palace, where they do turn on the A / C in the rooms). And then there are the often-reported annoying flies.

But for me it is the line-up that makes or breaks a club at any given time. And August is not famous for the best line-ups. There are no messe events in town, which often draws lots of girls for the line-ups.

Personally, I would wait until September to visit the clubs.

Going back two year, I used to see very reasonable airfare to Germany. Sometimes coming close to 400 USD roundtrip even in May. Last year, with all the airline mergers, prices practically doubled. This year its 2 1/2 times what I used to see way back when. Mid febuary on thru March is when you can usually find a decent price for a flight returning before mid May. Not this year so far.

Anyone else having trouble finding a decent price?

Are high and probably only going higher due to fuel. On the other hand, €'s are good: I just bought some at the second lowest rate for me in the last 2 years. I have to travel at the end of June and a few days into July. Costs may be high, some girls will be on holidays & there will be more tourists. I don't care: it will be the best time for me because I am there!

$685 round trip Flint, MI to Detroit, MI to Frankfurt and return. March 8th. March 17th.

I read that Delta was offering roundtrips to Europe from some cities for $200 until they caught the error. Gone are the days of $400 roundtrips.

You can work around the negatives, but still, it might be best to visit in between two Messe events, when the line-ups are still a bit swelled, but when the hotels dip back down to their normal rates.

I was going to try to find a hotel near each of them and stay until I got tired of the club and then move on to the next one. However, if it is high season, then the hotels might be booked up. I definitely can't take the risk of not being able to find a hotel, that's for sure.

For the "Golden Triangle" clubs (LR, GT and PHG) book the Etap in West Willich. Pretty practical for all three if you have a car, which I would strongly suggest.

B & B Frankfurt Nord is a great option for World / Oase trekking. Closer to Oase than World, but with a car and no real traffic, one is in Pohlheim from the B & B in 20 to 25 minutes. One of us made in about 15 recently, but he is a daredevil.

Etap West Willich is usually 39 EUR per night on off Messe days. B & B is 48 on off Messe days.

I agree with Ortos to the degree that if you are looking for sheer numbers, then August is probably the month that has fewest girls, so f. Ex. At Oase you may have 50 girls instead of 100. I do however love hanging out at the FKKs in July and August. A bit less hectic, but still plenty enough of good looking girls to sample.

I also find that GT does not seem to suffer much during the holiday season. May be because there is a line of girls trying to get into that club.

@Dedalus: It was flat 15 minutes, not "about". And we did use that shortcut by the rest stop. I would say a normal driving from the B&B to World not using the "illegal" shortcut is about 25-30 minutes.

@Freedom3: High season of FKKs has absolutely no effect on hotels. The only thing that fills up hotels in these areas is if there is a conference in town and even if they are concentrated around fall-winter-spring, there is always plenty time in between and you will have no problems as long as you plan your trip properly. Even if you are around during conference time, Etap Willich for example does not really get affected by conferences since it is not really close to Dusseldorf anyway, but as Deda points out, it is a good hub for NRW club visits. Etap Linden (close to World) does not really get affected as well since it is about 40 km north of Frankfurt, but also a good hub for both World and Oase. B&B Frankfurt Nord raises its rates considerably during conference time, but considerably less than most other hotels in Frankfurt. Both Etap and B&B are budget hotels, but still reasonable good place if you don't need a lot of on premises services. Nice clean rooms, free internet and price of 35-48 euros per night. Own wheels are definetly the best option. Not only will it give you freedom of travel, but it is actually cheaper in most cases than relying on combination of public transport and taxis.
