Well the reason I posted it was to show that things don't always turn out like you think they will. In most places I'd never even think of going after streetwalkers. If I would have just stuck to my original idea, I'd gave been fine. Live and learn.

This is a Brazilian Rodizio. Nonstop guys with skewers of meat coming around. I stopped counting at 15, so there were probably 20. All seemed good quality. I just loved the spicy sausages. Also a nice fish dish.

Drinks are 5/6k for non-alcoholic.

They've got a big salad bar, plus hot pastas and other good stuff. Also a nice dessert bar that often had a big line.

Not a fancy place, but nice food at a reasonable price. Recommended.

I took the #28 bus back to Azara. Got me within a block of my hotel.

I read online that there is a bus trip there that takes 6 hours each way. I don't know any more than that.

Went here yesterday afternoon. Prices were 80k 30 min, 100k 45, 120k 60 min.

Iguazu is not in Paraguay. It has a Brazil side and an Argentine side. It is not possible or very hard to get to Iguazu without going thru Brazil. I think a Brazil visa is now necessary, as border controls are stronger all the time. In any case, I don't think I would risk going into Brazil without the visa with all the crap around the frontier.

If you go, you are probably better off researching a stay in a hotel in Foz do Iguazu, Brazil. It has much better tourist facilities than Ciudad del Este.

The bus trip Asuncion-Ciudad del Este is about 6 hours and there are good busses. I wouldn't go or arrive at night in Ciudad del Este. Foz do Iguazu is accross the river from Ciudad del Este. There are various bus and taxi options to get there.

I had stopped by the restaurant a week ago, but they had closed. They have a downstairs restaurant, but wanted the nicer version upstairs.

Finally, I was around during lunch when they were still open. This is the upstairs restaurant, and is very similar to the Bolsi restaurant.

Very nice presentation, excellent breadbasket with warm bread, plus some bruschetta topping for the toasted bread slices and butter.

I was in the mood for a steak, so got a nice steak with mushrooms. Cost was 60k. Also got the Alaska ice cream dessert. No bread/cubierto charge here.

Excellent quality meat, and service. I'd put the quality a tiny bit higher than Bolsi. Total with water and dessert were about 80k.

Westy was nice enough to send me a list of other restaurants to try out. This place had been on my list, but as my days are dwindling, I've got to get stuff done.

I took a taxi from centro, but I'm not sure if the taxi meter was "fixed". It went in increments of 400, instead of 300 that I've seen on other meters. Cost 40k from EEUU/Cerro Cora.

This restaurant is right next to the gas station, and around the corner from the Paulista Grill.

I went around 9:45pm on Friday. Only about 40 people in the restaurant (this place can seat 1000). Great service, and they immediately bring lots of meat to you.

Decent salad bar, and dessert bar. I'd say that the noquis were probably my favorite items here. Similar to Paulista, but a notch below.

They have free wifi here, and pricing was the same as Paulista. 68k. Non-alcoholic drinks 6.5k.

The meat quality was pretty good, though a few cuts had a bit of a gamey taste. Their chicken was excellent, and not overcooked like the one I had at Paulista. I saw about a dozen different types of meat, compared to the 20 or so at Paulista. There is a possibility that they have less meats during the week.

Given the same pricing, I'd probably go with Paulista Grill, however there isn't a huge difference, and the service was great.

Another recommendation from Westy. This is a bar/nightclub that has a number of freelancers hanging around.

I got here just before midnight. The place was about half full at that point. About evenly split between couples and single groups of chicas. There are a few different seating areas, in the back a raised seating area, with the bar and lot of tables with padded seats.
