Like most other guys I've stayed at Ruamchit plenty of times. Dated rooms but clean and really a decent place for the price. Great location. Note about shortcuts between Sukhumvit Soi 2 and Soi 4: I stayed in Soi 2 for the peace and quiet, but it is a long walk to the action without the shortcuts. Rajah Alley route is closed, but there is a shortcut a little further down past the Brainwake Cafe.

Note about nice running and walking route: At the very end of Sukhumvit Soi 4 is Benchakitti Park with great running paths and it is connected to Lumphini park by a walkway which gives about 8-10 km of off-street exercise route. Great to work up a sweat and mingle with Bangkok's fit folk in the evening without getting mangled in traffic.
