My Covid Journey, continued
To recap, during the first wave and before there were vaccines, I went to a Covid Party and successfully infected myself with Covid. I had my antibody levels tested after I recovered which confirmed a healthy immune response. I took the first vaccine. Then the second (Pfizer).
At this point, I am not worried about Covid anymore because I had the best of both worlds, natural immunity (recovered from Covid) and conferred immunity (the vaccine) or the most immunity possible for current state. The variants start to appear and the data and interventions become a giant Klusterfuck. The virus is still capable of killing but is becoming less fatal, giving false courage to the antivaxers.
My main focus shifts from the virus itself to keeping myself optimized for international travel, mostly with Medellin in mind. The virus itself becomes less and less important. There are some familial and societal implications but the virus is doing what a virus will do, and outsmarts its host. Whether we intervene or not at this point, becomes moot, but only a few people realize it. Lines are drawn, stances claimed, biases flourish, groups are formed and they are all equally armed with misinformation, bad information, and lack of accurate information. Yadi, yadi, yadi, blah, blah, blah. Rabid Pitbulls in Jungle Piranha Pool.
With most vaccines, as time goes by, the protection from infection declines but unfortunately, there's been little discussion about this. " The surgeon general of the United States gets it right and states, "The vaccines provide high effectiveness for the prevention of hospitalization and death." The vaxers are still ahead of anti-vaxers for protection, but the gap is closing, fast.
The Law of Supply and Demand is not cultural
Appears you neither attended high school in Latin America nor Southeast Asia. You increase prices to make up for not having demand.
But for time management, I must beg off this argument. Go gettem' Tiger.
I don't believe there's a right or wrong style on this. It's just a matter of personal preference for each guy.
And so many variables. How long will you be in Medellin? Is this your first visit or your 20th? What developmental stage are you in life? What are your resources? So many more. And like you said, what is your personal style that you enjoy the most? The parameters for what defines a successful sexual encounter are broad and simple. Two consenting adults, and no one gets hurt. The latter has got a large gray zone but there is no need to muck it up, especially here and now. Keep On Keepin' On.
