Although it is not within walking distance, it is quite close to FKK World by car.

I'll need real wifi or WLAN for a laptop to connect and find time for real work. I have an iPhone with AT&T Wireless so I haven't even tried to investigate voice / data international roaming plans since they are almost always non-economical. I'd like to pick up a prepaid phone in Germany just to have a cell phone for emergencies but stick to wifi for the iPhone and WLAN / wifi at the hotel. Etap sounds like a good suggestion. I didn't expect to get much lower than the €40 / night range w / free wifi (and parking for that matter if I rent a car). There is another location ETAP HOTEL Frankfurt Sued Offenbach that seems a little closer for just a few more euros.

I stay at the BandB Frankfurt Nord which has great wifi and is a very reasonably priced but perfectly adequate hotel which is not far from Oase (by car). http://www.hotelbb.de/en/frankfurt-nord

The roads are well maintained and there are traffic lights, road markings and plenty of signs everywhere. The only problem I have found is that the entrances to the Autobahn sometimes don't give you much time to get on the main road, however other drivers are very helpful in leaving room. Also, when there are roadworks the lanes do become a bit narrow.

I do find that a GPS with lane expansion is essential though (I have a TomTom which was top of the range a few years back) as sometimes the junctions are complicated. I have managed to successfully make the transition from driving on the left to driving on the right. So coming from the US should be even more straightforward!

A slight veer off into the female mind area with an FKK context.

A friend of mine from a Central Eastern country has combined University with escorting over the last almost 3 years, successful in both. As many members may be hiring cars the Tripadviser site may be of interest. There are several active threads warning of the dangers of hiring from Thrifty or Dollar. The office at Frankfurt has, it would appear from the posts, perfected several different methods of extracting money, relying on the probablity that foreign visitors are unlikely to be able to use the German legal system to obtain redress.

Just search Thrifty and Frankfurt.

This would appear not to the normal sort of problem with car hire but appears to be organised, intentional and wide-ranging, and the cost to users can easily be 1000 lost Euros

Com. When you want to hire a car from Frankfurt-Main Airport, their default provider is Thriffty / Dollar, who are inconveniently located in the Terminal 2 (not 1!). The first time, back in January 2011, they tried their Winter Tyre Scam, trying to extort another 100-odd euros.

Next time was recently in June just past. I picked up a car with the arrangement that I would take the car full and return it full. When I actually started the car and started to drive out of the airport, the car's feul gauge read not full but midway between full and 3/4 full! Hmmmmp! How many people don't notice. Or do notice when it's too late!

This company is clearly out to swindle you.

But in calling Terminal 2 "inconvenient" I neglected to clarify that it was so in the context of somebody going to the Airport via S-bahn to pick-up a car. Since all S-bahns arrive at T. 1, to get to your car rental desk you have to walk clear across the Terminal 1 building and then go on the sky-train, etc. Same deal on returning the car and if your flight is Terminal 1, it all tacks on time.

Anyway the main point is Thrifty / Dollar are rip-offs at Frankfurt Airport.

I much prefer Sixt at the Frankfurt Hbf, if I had my choice.

Can anyone give a comprehensive list of club which allow women to approach the men and those that do not? I never pay attention to this, but it would be nice to know. It is also something that does not appear to be openly stated.
