If I were you I would do a quicky tourist thing in Bkk and/or Chiang Mai and get plenty of photos of temples and elephants. I wouldn´t mention going to Pattaya to anyone. Pattaya=Sex. Since your local Sim Chip won´t show where you are, nor will your e-mails home, I don´t see how you could get busted. Actually these are rather interesting questions.

As someone else said the ultimate answer lies with what sort of person you are. There are many young guys 18-25 who do come to Pattaya who give every indication of having a great time. They typically have alot of "mates", like getting drunk, clubbing and scoring with off duty bar/gogo girls. By and large there is not alot of interaction or mutual respect between these guys and the 35-70 year old guys who i suspect predominate on ISG.

I think if you are a more introspective young guy - as would seem to be evidenced by your questions and very appearance on ISG then there is a very real possibility that Pattaya may negatively influence your attitude towards women. Pattaya I think appeals to mindless younger men and jaded older men. Speaking for myself, I would not have appreciated / enjoyed Pattaya as a young man. If I could choose a holiday for a 19 year old me, I think I would go to Philippines and hook up with a 18-20 year old college girl there and take her for a trip around Palawan to Honda Bay and El Nido. Why? Because it's really difficult to find a decent girl in Pattaya. The girls get very jaded, very quickly. The younger ones who will generally have just showed up from Essan will often speak negligible English. In the Phils you can probably find a genuinely delightful young college girl who speaks English well and you can genuinely relate too and who will also fuck your brains out. If you play it smart you can probably try a few of her friends too. If you take her to Palawan you can see some of the most stunning scenery in Asia. Of course you will miss out on the endless bars and pool huge numbers of girls and discos of Pattaya so it depends on your tastes and needs.

Beginning my third day/4th night here. This is my second trip (first one was in 2008) so I am learning the ropes again and getting a sense of what has changed. Thanks to Kumbu and all other mongers for the good info on the site. I hope I can do my part here to contribute to the good info.

I got in from the airport around 8PM the first night and hit walking street around 10PM, anxious for some action. My plan was to score a free lancer, as I had some great success going down that route last trip. Walked up and down walking street a few times and checked the girls. Not too much of interest. Two stunners turned out to be LBs after further scrutinization (but one was just drop dead gorgeous, made me at least think about it LOL).

Hot as hell I walked into Airport GoGo, enticed by the stuardess costumes. Crazy scene inside with really hot girls. Fantastic Jacuzzi show. Soon enough I had a girl in each arm and was chatting up and making out with both. I ordered a few rounds of drinks but was a little light in the pocketbook as I only had taken 3000BHT with me. Not too bad considering all the attention they gave me. I bid them a fond farewell, saying hta tI was tired form my trip as an excuse. They made me promise to come back and this is definitely an option for later in the trip.

Grabbed a beer at the disco and weighted my options, as there were at least 2 or 3 that I found to be attractive. I felt I had missed out? But will look for them again.

To make a long story short, I am still testing the waters here. The FL scene seems hit and miss, but I guess this was true last time too. One thing I did notice is that the streets are swarming with Middle Eastern mongers. I don't mean to offend anyone, but they look a bit unkempt and dodgy to me and I understand the girls don't really like them. I wonder if their presence has adversely affected the FL scene. One thing is for sure, I'd hate to be here during Cobra Gold. I could see some serious carnage breaking out.

Just to make it clear, I do not in any way associate myself with any of these idiots. I fully agree with you that there must not be much interaction between these two age groups, though it is kind of sad. This however doesn't mean there can't be relationships here. I see myself as a very laid back kind of guy. The young guys you describe are exactly the kind of people I detest. Their "friends" are anything but and enjoy playing practical jokes on their "friends" and others expense. They make it look bad for the rest of us and I will be at disadvantages based of first impressions and experiences other people have had with people my age. Although I do like dancing, I like traditional dancing - swing actually (I assume many of you in America will know what I mean), and I do not like doff doff music to any particular degree. I dislike drinking excessively and can only handle a maximum of about 5-6 shots a night. After which I'm usually pissed beyond measure (I'm a Very skinny bloke.) I do not like getting intoxicated and would rather a quite bar enjoying the scenery (girls) while I sip on a whiskey or scotch.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure many of you would not like to associate yourself with one as young as myself. (I don't really understand it because I'm not old enough to imagine it the other way around, but I respect your opinions.) But I believe that on the whole, I would have a lot more respect and interaction with the older blokes or expats, than with the young stupid crowd.

I'm not sure if I would be negatively influenced or not by visiting LOS. I have no qualms about using the FFF principle, and I've done it before down here in Oz. In my mind, all I can really do is go and find out. It will be a once in a lifetime experience is all I know. The first time in LOS is always such. How I perceive woman currently is relationship material and non-relationship material. It's like this. I would never seriously date a girl from the many bars and nightclubs I sometimes go to down here. To me these girls are shallow and are nothing but fuck material. However, when I meet someone who likes studying or is in a respectable job, I appreciate the fact there are girls around that don't have the emotional range of a 2 year old. However, I am not up for such heavy emotional constraints and commitments, and would rather enjoy myself now, when I'm in my prime.

Your suggestions intrigue me. I have many questions floating around my head but I will refrain for voicing most of them, to save cluttering up the Pattaya thread. The holiday you describe would be an enjoyable experience. I am now debating over where to go because of your post. The way I see the differences are in terms of risk and effort.

Concerning risk (By what you describe), the chance of me getting emotionally attached to a girl in Phil is far grater then if I went to Pattaya (I can employ FFF But I'm human not a stone). I definitely do not want to stay in contact with any girls when I come back, and I do not have the means to support anyone. So although it would be more enjoyable, there would also be risk involved. The first few pages on the Phil forums showed me that many members support GF's from there and one other is dealing with a pregnancy from a few nights stay. These all bring up flags in my mind.

The other is effort. I really don't want to chase after girls and go the whole nine yards just to get some bimbo in bed. That's the whole reason I want to leave Australia. If it is very easy to do so for one such as myself then there wouldn't be a problem, but I have no experience to tell otherwise.

There are a few other things I've been reading that lend light to LOS over Phil - mostly stuff about the security and quality of food. From what I've read, Thailand is on the Up due to market forces while Phile is a dump. Don't know if this is true or not. I would imagine I would be reasonably safe among the throngs over other Ferangs in the main areas of Pattaya. It's funny, when I first found out about all this stuff I originally only knew about Angeles, and that's where I wanted to go originally although I've heard that's not the best idea for a first timer. Also, I'm not buff, a strong wind will blow me over which is not exactly a good thing when you're alone in a foreign country.

So yeah, that's where I'm at at the moment. I would PM you but I'm not sure if you are a member as I noticed one of your other posts. You seem to have much experience in the Philippines. You could PM me, but I still need to register too.

I spent the afternoon shopping in the big malls. A lot of very pretty girls but I didn't really have a chance to approach. I wasn't sure if I'd get slapped in the face or something LOL Anyone have any luck here?

Walked the length of Beach Rd in the afternoon. Some WGs but nothing to write home about or to take home for that matter. Same situation on walking street. I think the girls are busy eating and preparing for the night ahead so it's not the best time to monger.

On the way back to the Condo, I hit Jomtien complex again to check out the interior. Again, dominated by fugglies. Strider, as one who lives in the Philippines and who used to work in Thailand, I suggest you select Thailand for your initial trip. Women aside, it's just a more interesting, culturally enriching place and, in my opinion, Thai cuisine is among the finest in the world, while that of the Philippines is, sadly, among the worst. You can always experience to total GFE so characteristic of the PI during a subsequent trip.

I'm not sure I understand the debate about the establishment of rapport, if not relationships, between older and younger guys. What's the problem here? Surely intellectual rapprochement is more important than age differences. I'm in my mid-sixties and have friends here ranging from their early 20's to deep in their 70's and it's never been an issue.

Hi guys! Here is the promised update. What a night!

As mentioned in the last post, the plan was to try and score a weekend FL at one of the discos. I hit walking street around midnight, and it was chaotic as usual. Also more humid than usual. Even to the point o being difficult to breather. To make matters worse, there isn't a lot of good talent on the street, either. I hit up Lucifer next, and things there were also slow, though I did get approached by some descent lookers. But I was not ready to settle so early.

I gave Tony's disco a try. Some kind of trouble at the door wiht some young Turks (literaly). But I whizzed right by and the doorman and staffed acted like I was Tony's brother or something. A bit weird but OK. Inside was a total mess. It's so damn dark you can't tell who is who (or who is grabing you for that matter). I don't want to have to gnaw my arm off in the morning to get out of there LOL. Also an ugly scene with a middle eastern guy violently grabbing this girl sand then ejected by bouncers. So I decided to bounce myself and head up th estreet to the Walking Street Disco and check things out.

Normally these places aren't really my bag. I've kind of outgrown clubs. They are too loud, you have to wrestle your way to the bar to get a drink, the music is usually awful and there is always a bit of an aggressive vibe on the part of the dudes and standofishness fomr th ecicks. I don't go to these places back home so why the hell shoudl I do so in Thailand. But I have to admit the scene here was really good. Wall to wall hotties and very friendly. Also the music wasn't too atrocious either. Definitesly a place to do business.

So I squeeze my way to the bar and order a beer. As I turn around I spot this young lovely. Tall, fit and thin, smoking body. Nice smile and siamese kitty cat eyes. I go over and introduce myself. She is there with her friend (who is a bit of a hand grenade, but oh well). I buy the ladies a couple of beers and we start getting down on the dance floor. My girl is a very sexy dancer and we have some great fun. Another round of beers and we are grinding and sh gives me a nice full kiss. Life is good!

I haven't had dinner and all this is giving me an appetite, so I invite the ladies to have a bite to eat with me. We go over to beer garden and order some food. Pretty good fare. At this point I ask if she's like to come home with me and she says she would like to very much. I do not bring up the issue of money as I di dnot want to offend her. I wasn't quite sure where this was leading and if I had maybe scored a "freebie" (I use quotes because we all know this more often than not ends us costing us more in the long run.) But I am ready to roll with it and to see where this leads. It wouldn't be a bad thing to get to know people in this town that are out of the game.

So we decide to go over to marine disco and do a bit of dancng with her friends. A very nice group of girls (a couple of them are lookers in their own right). They are very deferential to me as I guess she said some nice things about them to me in Thai. My honey goes wild on the dancefloor. Gyrating to the beat like a pro. Again she has a very lithe and thin body with a nice set of silicones (not too big). she is really into it an this begins tiring us bth out so we decide to go back to my place. BTW marine is also full of nice looking girls too. What the boys in the service call a "target friendly environment". LOL

To cut to the chase we have an absolutely lovely time, with some smoking loving thrown in. Very passionate and tender. Another GFE, but a bit more "real" than the last one. I almost believe her when she tells me that she has not had a man in a while. We also talk a bit an she tells me more about her life. After we finished making love this morning she even told me that she had given in to me too easy. I may have even gotten away without giving her money. But I do want to do right by her and to still keep this on a professional level, though in a discrete way. I am not looking for a Thai girlfriend that I am obligated to spend my (not so) hard earned cash to. I have enough trouble on this front at home with my young girlfriend LOL

But it would be nice to have some fun with someone that is not so mercenary. I just don't want her to develop expectations. I still want to hook up with some other fine young things while I am here. Also need to visit DD one of these days too!

After a sub-stellar start, life is good at this point and I am having a ball. Will post as the story develops.

i agree with the points ge makes but with the following addendum.

1 personally i would say that the ideal holiday for a thinking young horny guy is a gfe type trip around thailand with a young girl in tow. ge is right about the food and culture comparison between thai and pi (though there are parts of pi of exceptional beauty). pattaya is in my view a place for the jaded and cynical re male-female relations and i think if you are 19 there is plenty of time to get jaded later on. the difficulty is that a nice gfe is rather more difficult to find in thailand than in phils.

2 i would agree with ge that intellectual rapprochement does trump age differences. however both pattaya and pi are very unusual places in that for westerners with an atm card, there is a superabundance of nubile and willing young girls. back in the real world there is always an excess of demand over supply for such girls (from a narrow age band) because they are attractive to men of all ages. this sets up a fundamental conflict between older guys with (as a generalisation) money and status and younger guys with (as a generalisation), looks, fitness and a rapport with girls a few years younger than themselves.

my view is that this conflict between younger and older guys competing for the attention of a relatively small number of nubile young girls is a much overlooked but critical aspect of social structures. as a generalisation the greater the degree of egalitarianism in a society the stronger the hand of younger guys. specifically if young guys are able to earn enough income to maintain and support a family, then women will tend to prefer dating and marrying guys a few years their senior. this was probably the case in our evolutionary past where many of our psychological dispositions would have been shaped. if one looks at hunter gatherer tribes, one typically finds median age gaps between partners or around 7 years and monogamy predominates. in these societies there is little possibility to store and accumulate wealth and fit young bucks maybe just as proficient hunters as more wiley old timers. it was the agricultural revolution of around 11000 years ago (unless you are one of those guys from the bible belt who believes that ussher correctly pinned down the creation of the earth to 23 oct 4004bc lol) that changed this as well as so many other things. if one looks at primitive agricultural societies (and i don't mean kansas), the median age gap between partners expands to around 15 years. in such societies young guys (under 30) are more or less excluded from officially taking wives (though they can often get away with illicit sex) as you need time to accumulate wealth in the form of cows and cultivated land to hand over to her parents and support your often multiple wives. industrialisation and democratisation have reversed this trend. in western countries, most young guys are able to find a job (or have benefits entitlements) that pays sufficiently well to bring up a family. in the west therefore the average age gap between first time marriage partners is just 2-3 years. the inevitable result of this is that unless you are seriously wealthy, famous or otherwise exceptional, if you are 40+ you are de facto excluded from the 18-25 sexy young girls market. this of course is the attraction for so many more mature western guys to vacation or retire in countries such as thailand or philippines where they can arbitrage international differences in economic performance and thus attract much younger and prettier women than they can do back home. thailand is getting richer and its now much harder to find high quality girls willing to accept huge age gaps than it was 20 years ago. the phils for various reasons has been stagnating economically for 30 years so there is a far greater tolerance of huge age gaps there.
