Few Thai women, for example would ever really want to leave Thailand, except perhaps for a short holiday. When they do move overseas, it's usually out of necessity rather than desire. They are so wired to their culture, that they find it hard to deal with anything else for any length of time. They are also brainwashed into believing the superiority of Thai culture and are in general real homebodies.
Also, given that Thai women would be answerable to their families and parents, it's highly unlikely except for the poorest and neediest, that their parents would exactly be thrilled if they were with a Farang.
Sure there are exceptions. I didn't say all, and I do believe it has changed somewhat over the last 12 years, since I first arrived. But, I'd still say the vast majority of Thai women prefer someone from their own culture. Maybe they might fuck a Farang guy, if he's good-looking enough and/or decent to them. But, most would never marry one, unless they had to.
As for my GF...Actually, I don't know. She says she hates Thai men because of bad experiences. But, I'm not sure I believe her. I provide security and stability for her, which is something she seems to want the most - (not necessarily financial, I don't give her much, if any money, now as she has her own salary). But, I'm not sure I believe her, any more than any other Thai women when she says she loves me. Her family approve of me, mainly because of my education, and my job and are happy about what I have done for her. But, she didn't tell them about me for well over 6 months because she was afraid. It was only after her father found out, and was quite angry and demanded she leave me and come home, that I was eventually accepted (to a point) - but only after he found out where I worked and my background.
Quite honestly, if I found out she had a Thai guy on the side, I wouldn't be that shocked - upset, probably - shocked, no. The relationship works for me, for the moment. Why not? She's 24, very cute, and fun to be with. We get along very well. But, I have no illusions about it, anymore than with any other relationship.
I think that people are mistaking a desire for a quick fuck, a fantasy date, a need for security and a guy with a "good heart to take care of me", for love. Thai women, of a certain type and inclination will be with a Farang for all these reasons. But, rarely would she be with one for love. I still maintain that for that, most Thai women would pick a Thai guy, however bad he is.

Old Thai Hand and Soap Fan - you are correct. One theory (which I have seen no empirical evidence of) is that the average Thai IQ is lower than others. No racisim here - in fact Asians are usually smarter than caucasions, with Indians in the lead. I digress.
I think Thai women are more highly sexed than the West, and certainly more than Debbie Cha Cha from Broken Hill. They are also family orientated. However, that only goes so far. When you are poor, cooperation is one tool to enhance the odds of getting ahead. Once rich (and the need for cooperation is lessened), bitter family feuds are common. There is no mystique in Asia. Looked at with objectivity, human nature is very similar - and selfish.
And yes, they do like big dicks (though not all - some find it painful). But like all women, they crave security and money. That goes right back to to the time of the cave and dinosaurs. Men hunted. Women nutured children. This changed a few hundred years ago. But our brains are still in 60,000 BC.
Like most people in every country, women would like the stay in the same culture except for the poverty bit. Japanese are an exception in Asia, and are more adventurous. Anyone who has had a Japanese girlfriend know that they have strong carnel appetites and like Western men who have emotions.
Meanwhile, Thai chicks are merely opportunistic, like most women. But in the end, when they take off their clothes, women look the same.
