The example I gave, was an attempt to translate that biblical quote from English to Russian AND BACK AGAIN, which of course is doubly difficult. It dates 50 years back is well documented on the internet.

2. Google is smart and has added many idioms to their dictionaries. These are then not translated, but just "looked up".
