Even normal Norwegians are quite peculiar when it comes to their language since there are two different written languages but I've confirmed that both use Zevs. The only thing I can think of is that he's stuck in time before one of many spelling reforms. V and W are pronounced the same way and these days W is only used in names and loanwords.

What's more is that it's very un-Norwegian to insist a certain spelling is superior. That's because of the 'controversy' of their two languages where one is 'better' but very, very similar to written Danish. The other is using weird spelling that is approximately like the rural dialects of Western Norway.
