So I am about 83.6% sure I am being paranoid and I will apologize for a long story right now. I have been living on spy / shoot them up novels for the last two years. Consider all of the gringos bringing home hookers. The vast majority have no problems. The only source with a high frequency of problems is Tinder, where the girls are able to be completely anonymous. Most guys staying in hotels don't have a problem with maids stealing from them (although most guys don't show the maids where they hide their money).

Now consider everyone working for this service is known. Their names, along with a copy of their cedula is on file. The customers all have the company WhatsApp. Every appointment is set and assigned by the person running things. There's a chain of accountability.

If someone leaves a big pile of cash out, it might end up missing some bills, but that will happen anywhere. Provided the customers take the same precautions they should be taking every day, there shouldn't be any problems.

The little things that can be in some ways more maddening, a favorite pen, a pair of tweezers. These chicas will half-way empty out lotion containers into their own and then add water to yours. Food. Coins. Trinkets. Dental floss. Lighters. Medicine. Drugs you can't report. Or the kind of stuff that is easy to ignore and these maids will assume gringos won't make a big fuss over.
