a quick rundown of venues tried out last week:
[url=http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord900][CodeWord900][/url] (alley off soi 8): bj bar. girls sit outside in their schoolgirlish uniforms. bar inside lower level, action is done upstairs in curtained-off alcoves. a little mechanical and too quick for my taste, but good to get your rocks off quickly. i spun by 3 times to see who was outside, very little fantasy material but plenty of 5-6s. 700bht for bbbj, the one provider i tried here asked for a tip after an energetic but average performance. the girls seem to self-select which one will approach a new customer.
aviva's massage (alley off soi 8): massage parlor, up-to-full-service available from all providers. this got some bad reviews here but giotto wrote it up recently as much improved, so thought i'd try it. stopped by 3 times, you can pick from the girls in a small room (if you're western-tall you can peek in) or from a book of photos. the photos in the book include those on the website. several cute girls were repeatedly unavailable (busy, on holiday, not there yet, etc) but two girls i tried on different occasions were eager to please, gave a decent massage, and didn't seem to be watching the clock. fs is 1500bht. cheapest massage is 300bht for thai-style 1-hour. decent place to stop in off-hours or if you don't want to deal with getting somebody back to your hotel.
beirgarden (soi 7): i checked this out 3-5 times briefly at different times between 2 and 7pm. it was usually busy-to-full, lots of 4-5s. a few lookers, but not many. prices nice and cheap, took a girl for st for 1000bht. she was pleasant and cheerful (though once naked, her crude c-section scar didn't do much for me! but she was enthusiastic). good for off-hours or if you're staying nearby, but quality isn't what i look for.
food court near beirgarden (soi 7): despite a note i read that this might be a decent freelancer spot, nobody notable on several walkbys.
sposso's nightclub (hyatt erawan): thought i'd check out this upscale location that has gotten some discussion here as hit-or-miss for freelancers. great live cover band (club tunes but performed live, very impressive). swank looking place, mediocre service, expensive drinks (~300bht for a singha). a weeknight was packed with well-dressed cuties, some definitely looking to be picked up, or willing to be. chicks no more attractive (or less so) than other places, but dressed well and done up well. probably not the place for guys who have trouble approaching chicks back home, who don't like nightclubs, or are on a tight mongering-budget. i checked it out again on a weekend night and a very different crowd with fewer girls and less energy.
nana hotel carpark after hours (soi 4): as i mentioned in a previous post, i was unimpressed with the selection here, but the coffee shop seemed like a good place to hang out and watch the mongering action. a very small number of cuties after hours, but mostly slim pickings. i didn't check prices.
nana entertainment plaza (soi 4): i like the proximity of the go-gos here, but don't like that you can't tell what each one is like inside without actually going in. i tried rainbow on the advice of a recent post here and was pleased at the quality. a number of cuties on a weeknight. took a little hot number from isan, 600bht barfine.
landmark hotel lobby bar (near soi4 on sukhumvit): in my search for freelancers, i popped into this lounge around midnight on a friday night. it was empty except for couples. if anybody has had any luck around the landmark, let me know.
street scene (soi 5 - soi 11): the nightly market here is busy until at least 4am. i noticed below-average looking girls and katoeys available at many different times, but several times noticed cute girls (6-8s) standing around who looked available for p4p at odd times like 7pm on a saturday. i was occupied those times so didn't ask for pricing. worth keeping your eyes open on the way to/from the hotel, dinner, etc!

- tall girls (for thai standards)
- boots (hiding the big feet)
- scarf or other "clothing" around the neck (for obvious reasons)
- voice (also for thai/asian standards)
but all this may not help in all cases. sometimes they are really good actors and have undergone very good plastical surgery. so just be aware of the possibility and donīt feel too fooles if it takes a little longer to recognise - as long as you donīt have choosen "him" already.
typically the katoyes are also more aggressive or "seriously" enthusiastic in approaching farangs. sure also the real girls approach you...but i think itīs more than just my personal experience that girls seldom hang on you when you do not keep communicating with them while katoyes tend to get in direct contact.
but for a newby to los the difference can be real hard to judge.
