Totally agree....dont wanna stay in BKK for 5 days...and pattaya is way too small and dont want a catfight on the street if we bang into each other.

Alright, so I'm about to bite the bullet, put my money where my mouth is and book the flight. But I got a few final questions before I outlay my money. 1st is, is it a good idea to book the Hotel in advance? I don't think I'll have trouble finding one, a bit of reading on these forums is good enough to find on of a quality I'm looking for, but I just want to make sure I won't be left on the street when I get there. I will be staying for two weeks sometime from late Oct through Nov, depending on available flights.

The other question is money related. Roughly how much would you think I'd need for a two week stay? I'd figure 1k AUS for the flight and I've got up to 3k left but I think that's overkill. 3k is roughly 85k BHT. Judging by Kumbu's post in the BKK thread it seems like more than enough. My only concern is I read somewhere that it's hard to convert Baht back into AUS. Is this true? I'm a bit skeptical about this info. Otherwise I will get one of those ATM cards my travel agent was talking about that lets me draw Baht from the ATM's.

Just got my passport set up, will be looking around a few other travel agents before I settle on a price for the flight. Trying to get one for 800$ but it's a tough call. Apparently it will be busy during this time and many of the flights are booked out already. Any of you know if this is true? If I just take travel agents word then I better book now now now, because otherwise I will need to pay more to get a seat (Well according to her). Sounds a bit like she wants my money, but I'm not so sure.

There are chinese and taiwanese who come for vacation in Pattaya, and I sometimes see korean and japanese tourists as well. I don't think Pattaya offers this in p4p form, but there are some spots in bkk that do.

If you use the ATM you will have to pay a 150 baht each time. As far as the conversion back, USD and Euro are used as base currencies around the world. Many times a converter will convert from currency X to USD or Euro, then from that to currency Y.

But before I get into that: it isn't just you - it's a pretty accurate picture you paint. Unless you do as Mr. E. is suggesting and set the conditions early. I think Kumbu has more or less nailed this question. A few minor additional points.

1 I think Kumbus ' fourth point ie looking for a "I'll send you 10,000B a month when I'm back in Germany so you don't have to be a hooker any more" kind of guy is very important.
