I tried several bars and had luck at Sharks but st Deja Vu they def tried to overcharge me and rip me off. Got out as fast as I could. Apparently this is one of the bars owned by "the Arab" who is well known for trying to fleece his patrons.

Four trips since 2018, spent over a year in Thailand, and I still leave my ATM card in the machine. Twice, so far. My regular US ATM always gives me my card back before I get the money while it's making a loud beeping noise with flashing lights reminding me to get it.

In Thailand, they give you the money first, the card after you finalize the transaction. In fairness, you get the same loud 'hey don't forget your card idiot' tone after you get the money, but the first time it happened I was way too drunk and had already stumbled down the road and didn't notice the machine screaming at me. Fortunately, I was leaving in a few days and had my backup. I thought I learned my lesson until I did it again my first day in BKK last summer when I was trying to stay awake to adjust to the time difference. Damn! I have to second the Schwab recommendation since they sent me a card in less than a week at no charge. So remember, take your money then wait for the card. Do as I say, not as I do.

When is the best time to visit Bangkok weather wise?

Not too hot and not too much rain if possible.

I am in Bangkok at the moment and have been debating whether its worth my while (time and money) to join. The same thing you are experiencing I believe that I will see that as well. I am not a member of Thai Cupid but somewhere along the way my profile was featured there and I am constantly beset by older and mostly unattractive Thai women who are also not paying members. A total waste of time. I know that some girls you can only see if you a paid member of TF but then.

Everyone else is pursuing them as well. It seems to me TF is overpriced for what you get. Let us know if you join whether it was worth it.

I came to bkk on Jan 9th, stayed 3 days here, then Pattaya 3 days, them back here yesterday for 4 more days.

I joined TF on Dec 22nd with premium. My conclusions:

Its a hit and miss. Hit 1, miss 100.2. Its difficult to get eyeballs of younger prettier women. As said, many are older, uglier and not from BKK, but would like you without reading your profile. Those who do like you and match may not even read your message and if they do, may not reply.

I had 2 average successes, ST, both 1500,1 each in bkk and pattaya.

Many prettier 30's ladies on jobs inspite of saying my intentions clearly, keep asking the same questions everyday morning between 10-11 am. Block them eventually.

Conclusion: Waste of money and time for short time visitors.

I on the other hand, would prefer a dead fish. I'm confident enough with my performance, so honest reactions help me gauge how to adjust. I'm probably not going to bother with soapies again.

I paid for a month of premium based on recommendations I'd read, but all I'm getting are edentulous grannies and cuties 200 km away. It might be a better investment in Pattaya or perhaps other places, but don't waste it for BKK. I'd suggest getting Smooci premium instead for the same price. You get a small discount on bookings, access to reviews, advance bookings and 1 HR outcalls. Even the girls with their phone numbers and line Ids on TF do not respond there. Tinder seemed to be marginally better, but I didn't pay for premium. Sideline or bar girls are a better investment of time imo.

A real word artist, you paint a great picture. The only REAL point I have I've moved up top.

My Oww (I don't want). Oww is the sound you make when you hurt yourself.

If you want to be polite, add a "Kap" at the end of the phrase. If not, don't.

What these do is mark you as knowing what's going on, even if you don't, as in not a walkover newbee. Last visit, waiting for my ride from the airport, walked past the limo parking area. One driver offered me a ride, I just said, My Pie. All the other drivers laughed, no doubt at my pronunciation, but it got the point across, and any discussion was short circuited.

Thai is a tonal language and with my ears, why I'll never be able to speak it. But I am VERY good at TONES. I don't tolerate anyone grabbing me, to misquote Bogart, "in a number of gin joints in a number of parts of the world", even out on the street. If a local phrase doesn't work, I switch to my TONAL COMMAND VOICE English, as in, "I DON'T TOUCH YOU, [B]DON'T[/B] TOUCH ME! In a tone that leaves NO room for ANY misunderstanding. They rely on your politeness, your newness, your acceptance. I quash that immediately. But, my experience, in Thailand, the My Pie, My Oww works as it marks you as knowing what's what, and the vultures, sharks, whatever, move on to weaker prey.
