I will say that I have experienced situations were the the lady (sometimes the term is applied very loosely) had a significant change in attitude once the door closed behind them, as well as some type of memory loss about the conversation that had taken place only minutes before closed. This personal experience is certainly driving my opinion on the matter. And before you suggest anything to the contrary, I am absolutely certain that on the those occasions when it happened I had given them no reasons for a "red flag" as you call it.

As an aside, I will just say there have been a few instances in Thailand where the lady asked me for the money upfront. I have always politely refused and told them I would pay after, not before. They were always cool with that until this particular episode. Even at go-go bars where the mamasan asked me for money upfront, I have always just paid the bar fine and said I would pay the rest after and not before. Never had an issue. Sometimes as a compromise, they may ask me to pay 1/2 of the fee at the bar first, which I am happy to do.

On hindsight, I probably should have approached the bouncer at Thermae and told him about it. Not sure what he could or would do, given the girls there are freelancers but oh well, too late for that now.
