It's more open and well orchestrated in Europe hence costs can be lower, China really low starting at 2K inspite of better trained quality while here in India LE problems and imprctical regulations about Hotel calling etc causes fear psychosis and hence unsteady supply, hence more cost. So don't pay more in Europe!

Think about it. How many people can actually afford paying 10K. 15K regularly? It's true stuff such as hotel prices are pretty high here and are comparable to that of large cities in US. But when I look at how much people such as taxi drivers make, and the huge supply of girls, my guess is that, girls controlled by MP or providers may only get to keep 500 Rs (or even less) no matter how much providers charge us. If my guess is not too off, providers should be happy to sell at pretty much any price. Indenpendent girls, who have a higher living standard, may require more to make their living. But they only make money when they are able to sell / when there are people buying. After all, price is determined by supply and demand.

Here is my BLR vs US comparison for you to think about:

Everage worker's pay: for IT, BLR is probably 1/3 to 1/2 of that of US; outside of IT, BLR may be 1/10 (or less) of that of US.

Number of girls providing services to population ratio: India is probably 10 times (if not more) that of US

In such a market, would you pay 10K, which is an above average price in US?

I thought about the following but didn't put in my last post: the reason prices in China and Singapore are low is simply because of supply! Remember, it's NOT legal at all in China and LE is surely strict. But the price hasn't gone up that much (if any at all) over the years, simply because of unlimited supply. India, constrained you may say, also has unlimited supply. And it is legal to some extend (yes, I was educated by a member that it's illegal in public place such as hotels). In China, it is illegal anywhere!

I truely believe asking price is high here simply because SPs try to control the price.

I'm probably not a savvy shopper in India (I can say I'm in US). So enlighten me if you are. I bought 2 items this time. First it was a mid-sized carving marble elephant, which you see in almost every gift shop, for 450 Rs (negotiated down from sticker price of 700 Rs) on MG Road; second is a beautiful marble vase (about 1 feet hight) for 2000 Rs (negotiated down from sticker price of 4350 Rs). I have no idea of the cost so it's still possble I was slaughtered as a tourist while locals pay much lower. When I decided to buy, I simply offered a price which I think I'd be happy to pay and be firm about it. In the case of the vase, they were lowering price to 4000, 3800, 3500, 3000, 2800, 2400, 2200 and I never increased my offer price, and was always ready to walk out.

The point here is, I don't believe asking price at all, especially in countries such as India and China.
