I only have been once in an upstairs bar in Patpong. I took a seat and looked around a bit. Never knew that Thai women can be so ugly. A man with his shirt open was surrounded by 5 butt-ugly girls but seemingly had a great time.

Depends on the night as far as scoring the dancers. Sometimes all it takes is a word to the waiter and B200 to get a meet. Other times it takes a bottle of Johnnie W. Black and some discrete white cash to the DJ. Then again other nights, you may need to know the guy from Chiang Mai with the beach house in Jomtien where the chicks crash every other weekend.
In any case, still, as in days of old in Thailand, you need an intro. It's just a matter of getting it.
Also, be careful what you wish for, many those dancers are loaded with silicone, not very nice looking in the daylight, and spend a lot of time (when they aren't sleeping) wrapped in towels doing emails (sponsors.)

Just wondering if rates for ST/LT have decreased since tourist numbers surely have had to this high season due to the global economic meltdown. I will be there in May and wonder what I will be in for when I head to Cowboy and Nana. Asking price when I was there in November '08 was 1000-2000 ST and 2000-3000 LT. Freelancers in discos usually in the 2000 LT ballpark. I know that to a degree, the pricing depends on how "hansum" they think a guy is, but most of the girls seem to be a lot more biz-like than even 5 years ago. Even a relatively fit, younger guy like me can't get a sweeter deal anymore. Although I did end up hanging for a few days with a girl from Angelwitch who was fantastic and treated me well. About 10,000 BHT for 7 days of hangin with her. Only paid one initial barfine on the first night I saw her so I guess she took care of the other day's barfines? Don't know, didn't ask. Stayed at her place a couple nights. I'd buy food and drinks in addition to her "salary" and she'd always pay the cab fare anywhere we went, which was a nice consolation prize from her to make me feel special. What the hell, I went with it. Had a blast. She was so damn cool. Still in touch with her but don't send her any money and she's never asked. A good gik to have for when I'm in town.

Not yet! Most Thai girls will hold out as long as they can because they know they can find a sucker who can fit the bill, and there are still plenty of guys here paying for it now.
The sex industry (not tourist industry) is a bit recessionary proof. Guys may not be staying in expensive hotels now, but they are still forking out for a piece of ass.

Thanks, but measuring raw posts doesn't mean much. Measuring informative site reports would be a better count.
Otherwise we can rack up posts with smart arse one-liners.
While I have been going to various parts of BKK for 17 years, I can't compete with those that actually live there.
