There were several discos / club that would open on Sundays around noon and stayed open until early evening, that were specifically geared toward maids who were "off" during those hours.

I'm in contact with a Pinay maid from Tarlac City who works for an Australian expatriate family in Singapore. I met her on Tinder while she was in the PI for Christmas. Financial necessity drives these women to leave their kids and families and head off to work. I know you can't apply western values to Asian countries, but the conditions of work can be best be described as modern day slavery. The maids only get Sunday off from 8. 00 am to 8. 00 pm. A strict curfew is enforced by their masters, so this discounts any opportunity for a sexual relationship at night or during the week. I was seriously thinking of flying into Singapore for a sex rendezvous with this maid, but it wouldn't have been worthwhile just to see her for a few hours on Sunday during the day.

She said all they do on Sunday is meet up with their friends from their home towns and window shop around Lucky Plaza and Orchard. They earn too little to be able to afford more than a simple meal at the hawker stands. Their pay is around SGD 650 per month, which equates to about PHP 24,000. This is a lot more than they could get back in the PI. A contract is for 2 years and they rarely go home during this period. It must be quite a miserable existence. This lady kept saying it was just like a prison being locked up in the apartment each night.
