Totally agreed! BTW, having the right to refuse a barfine and taking some days off proves to me the matter of fact that no girl in AC acts under duress!

There's good and bad about allowing the hookers (don't kid yourself about what they are) to refuse customers. I was no way implying they be treated as slaves, be forced to work under duress or go with BF's that would in anyway place them in danger. But its a slippery slope once you go down that path. Korea started the same thing circa 1989 and now the villes there are nothing but juicy bars. Zero barfining; zero mongering. It's not even an option. The DOD put the final nail in the mongering coffin a few years ago with their zero tolerance policy for prostitution by placing establishments off-limits that did allow barfines but the practice was nearly completely extinct already.

I think its safe to say that nobody on this board wants Angeles to turn into a juicy bar town that no longer does barfines. Maybe I'm just being paranoid after seeing what happened in Korea and knowing how quickly you'll be tossed from a strip bar in the US if you even proposition one of the strippers. Chivalry is very PC and you guys earned approving nods from the feminist extremists who troll this board, but be careful of what you wish for.

The first sign of the apocalypse will be when a large bar opens on Fields with zero barfining allowed. Its a slippery slope gentlemen.

Apples versus Oranges. Prostitution is driven by poverty. And since South Korea now has a first world economy. They can now afford imposing higher morality standards. It will be a long time before the Philippines will be in the same economic bracket. There may not always be an Angeles City, but there will always be a third world economy out there somewhere.

Good points. I just hate to see the first signs in AC of what happened in Korea. Once the girls in Korea realized they could make just as much from juicys (if not more) than going on BF's, within just a few years the mongering scene was gone. The bars are all still there but no more BF's....just $12 -$25 juicy's now. At each stage of the Korean evolution, the Western clientele, with our Western standards of chivalry, supported the changes for the "benefit of the girls" with similar reasons that folks have stated below in this thread. Once the dust was settled, we all realized that we'd lost a great playground; probably the third best in the world at that time after the PI and Thailand. I don't think it will happen anytime soon in the Phils for a variety of reasons but someone has to be the Devil's Advocate. :)

I just checked out this morning, after a 9 day stay here. I can't remember the last time that I stayed in such a nice place, with great service under $100 a night.

Some of the things that just annoy me so much aren't an issue here. No housekeeping knocking on your door at 10am, when you went to bed at 6am. No padding the bill with mini-bar charges for stuff you never drank. No rude desk personnel when you bring chicas back to your room.

By the second day, all the desk people knew my name. I had booked via email about 2-3 weeks before I came. They didn't have the standard $29 room for the first 4 nights. When the room did become available, the room they showed me really smelled of smoke. They found me another one without any problem, and then 3 of the housekeeping staff moved all my stuff!

The wired internet was a bit hit or miss, I'd say it was up about 75% of the time, and a few of the bath towels were in need of replacement. At least they were of decent quality, and not the paper thin kinds you get in a lot of Asia.

I only ate in the restaurant the last night, and found the pricing to be fair, just a bit over Mo's prices, and the waitresses are *hot*.

I rarely post such glowing reviews of a place, but I was quite impressed with Central Park.

I travel to different parts of Asia every 4 months. The Central Park HOtel has the very best Staff and Services of any hotel that I have ever stayed at in Asia. But now, I understand that the same owner (s) has a second hotel in AC called the Pacific Breeze. So I am guessing that they will staff PB with an equally outstanding hotel staff. In less than two weeks, I shall be staying at both to compare them. Will report back later on the results.)

I will be having my very first trip to AC this weekend and after reading all the reports here, I must say that I have equipped myself with adequate info and knowledge of AC to move around. will be staying at Hotel Royal Amsterdam.

BTW, anyone here has any idea on the location of the nearest casino. I found two from internet but unsure the distance from AC itself. thought of spending some hours there to try my luck.
