Exactly. A good judge is what the local lads are paying. One look at Fin Fin Fan will tell you everything you need to know. Very few gals over 2 k.
I think it very much depends on where the girl typically markets her wares or if she markets them anywhere at all. If you're encountering girls who market their wares in typical farang red light districts, then 1000 baht for a day (Mr. E said "a day", not per ST, so not sure if we're talking about the same thing anymore) is quite low and the girl is bound to be in very, very low demand at anything more than that amount. But maybe not in Pattaya, for instance. Personally, I can't think of a girl I've seen or been with in Pattaya that I'd pay as much as 1,000 baht for a ST. But that is another story.
However, if the girl is only marketing her wares on local Thai sites and in venues frequented only by locals, then 1000 baht for ST is probably fine. Again, not sure about 1,000 baht "a day". That still sounds low for what most punters would find acceptable on Fin Fin Fan and so on.
Still, on dating sites and in encounters around town, you can meet girls who aren't marketing their wares anywhere really and the only amount of baht you are competing with is what the old lady who owns the place pays that girl to wash clothes, sweep floors or serve pad thai. She might be unemployed entirely. In that case, replacing what they usually get paid in their regular job for "a day" of companionship and sex is doable for 1,000 baht. Even in Bangkok red light areas. And it is entirely possible that such a girl is younger, slimmer, cuter and better in bed than many pro P4P girls who market their wares in the usual way.
For several months I have been seeing a 29 year old once a week or so that I met on a Thai dating site (she didn't even post a photo!) whose looks, skills and loving attention in the bed would easily command 3,000 for ST via most farang red light district venues and bars, not including the barfine. But she didn't choose to go that route for whatever reason. I only give her 2,000 for all night that begins sometime around 6PM and ends the next day whenever we wake up and feel like parting ways, usually well after 12noon. I have only ever given her that amount and she has never balked or asked for more.

Tell me where there is a lineup better than Palace agogo and I will be there instantly. Walk in to Palace at 9:30 pm on a weekend night and sit for the 3 rotations. I'll even pay for your drink next time you're in town. There are other gogo bars I could name but Palace is the one that is most diverse to attract those with both Farang and Asian taste in women. If you hang out at beer bars, Soi 7, Soi 8, Beach Road, low end gogo bars like Windmill and Crazy House, and only infrequently go to Soi 6 then yes I agree with you but even then there are exceptions on the rare occasion. In fact, met a 19 year old who looks like a cute kpop singer in a grungy beer bar yesterday and ended up being late meeting the guys on WS. I didn't want to leave her and ended up leaving WS early to go see her again. She's been in Pattaya for 4 days now. One of the prettiest girls I ever met in Thailand was a girl from Burma who also worked in a beer bar.
I have found that the locals pay MORE than foreigners for the top quality girls, but they pay less than foreigners for the low quality girls.
Totally agree here. Most mongers think that their money and skin give admission to anywhere they wish.
The reality is that 99% would be scared off by the true low end market and will not be permitted access to the high end.

I am sure some go-go bars in Pattaya have a handful of overpriced lookers. But I wasn't talking about girls based only on their looks. I was talking about girls I have seen and have "experienced". I have seen, interviewed and taken many girls in Pattaya. But for the past 5-6 years and maybe 9-10 visits, there is not one I would pay as much as 1,000, scratch that, 200 baht to meet or "experience" again.

There are girls that want sex. They may feel that they prefer Farangs or non Thai men. They may not refuse a small amount of monetary help.
Used to be a lot more common 20 to 30 years ago where a lot of Thermae girls were semi-hookers. Looking for a good time with a guy, and picking up a bit of bonus pocket money (as a gift). In the old days girls in Thermae were not just looking to make x amount of money in a rather short ST. Yes they could use some extra money when the regular job paid poorly, but they were looking for a good time too, not just to give service.
Therefore I don't think this girl is at all relevant to mainstream hooker discussions and their prices, nor even the talent pools in Pattaya.
I also had a regular girl for sometimes ST and sometimes LT sessions. Certainly no clock watching. Okay She needed some help with the rent, etc. She certainly said it was not about the money for her. She would not be fucking me, if not horny and having a good time, and liking my tongue and dick. Added bonus is I don't pry into her business, no interest in her official BF, don't ask difficult questions, show zero jealousy levels, etc. Easy and laid back and reliable and not selfish in bed. She is a horny girl but does not do Thai men, and has certain specs to met by a candidate guy. Older than your girl, but still hot enough. So I understand well enough, that normal mongering can decline a lot, when you have a special semi-P4 P girl that gives a lot more for a lot less. I have just the one special girl like this, outside of the regular GF. Not that easy to find someone very suitable (for liasons that can only happen when both our partners are absent). I did have a another regular Thai girl, a bit like this outside of Thailand, for many years, but in the end she started to get a bit too old (must be close to 50 now) to be really exiting any more and I was in her location less and less. So nothing has occurred for last few years and I assume ended. She was once a hooker, but retired maybe 15 to 20 years ago, retaining some sexual needs. At another time, had a Thai casual "girlfriend" who was a part time hooker in Germany. She was looking for a little more than just sex, but it was not to be paid.
Some girls want a husband, some want a 2nd boyfriend of sorts, who treats them better than the official primary BF / Partner / husband, some need not much more than the sex. Some need small money but don't want to become a full time hooker.

Does not seem to make any sense unless you can explain why the Pattaya girls should be so bad in general or is it just an unfair attitude towards them?
Sounds slightly like my Thermae experience when all girls tried for last few years were pretty worthless, to me. Not one worth repeating (without bringing price into it).
Surely Pattaya must have some girls that really like old Farangs? Some must be capable of a good time. Are you saying all of those are just too ugly?

Still going strong when I moved here almost 20 years ago. End of the month was rent time and all the part-timers would come out. I even got driven to the ST hotel in a gals car once. So many office gals looking to supplement their salaries and as you said, have a little fun. Truly a great time. Nothing like that in Thermae now. What used to be a nightly party has devolved into some sort of boring middle school dance with dudes walking around in circles looking at bored gals, forcing a smile, none of whom are drinking any partying. Meh.

TMMV PhD.

Is anyone doing a PhD on all this price variation and differentiation? I guess Thermae is a mainstream tourist as it comes now. I got some terrific bonks and experiences out of that place. One of them was fantastic the first few times but then took the egg timer route. I could do a PhD on her alone.

Thermae Now
some sort of boring middle school dance with dudes walking around in circles looking at bored gals, forcing a smile, none of whom are drinking any partying. Meh.
That is how I see it too. Like a 1950's "American Graffiti" scene, but without cars or fun. Just a meat market with a ton of rather ordinary looking bored girls. I wish the girls were more outgoing or more lively and dressed better. None look that good to me in their drab street clothes. As a result I haven't taken a girl out of Thermae in years although I still stop in occasionally when I am walking by on my way somewhere else, somewhere better.
All that said, it is hard to knock success. Whatever management is doing wrong in our mutual opinions, they must be doing something very right from a commercial point of view. When I last dropped by Thermae on a drizzly Wednesday night in October around 11pm, the place was packed to the rafters with girls along all 4 walls and all around the island bar with NE Asians clogging up the walk around. So if the joint was filled to capacity on an ordinary Wednesday night in low season. I wonder what it will be like in December/January.

It was so much fun. A party every night. Management has always catered to the clientele. Most gracious wait staff in the city. Love those dudes.

Access to computers
This question definitely belongs here. I will be needing about 1/2 an hour per day access to a computer when I am next in Pattaya to write my reports. I can on my phone but it turns a quick process into a lengthy one due to small keys and fat fingers. I will obviously check if the hotels I'm booked into has a business centre but any suggestions. I did a laptop that I used exclusively for my hobby but it has died and it's hard to justify the expense of buying a new one for one or two uses a year.
Thanks.
Rob.

I suggest you buy a small tablet <$100 and use free hotel Wifi or other local WiFi.

Some hotels rent laptops. There are also internet cafes spread around Pattaya. You can type 'internet cafe' on Google map to search. If all else fails go to PowerBuy and type your reports from the laptops for sale.
