Its quite amazing I was given the same story that the grand mother was very ill and needed medical attention and the costs were very high that's why she was in the profession she was in. I've met hundreds of girls in the hobby. I've only fallen in love with one of them. I spent thousands of dollars flying her to visit me and the usual girlfriend type stuff. She never asked me for money and I've found the ones that are honest with their feelings won't ask you for money.
There are SO many normal girls that aren't in the hobby that are looking for a nice guy. These working girls are great in bed but few would probably be wife material. Be careful with feelings. Often times guys mistake a strong orgasm for being in love.

I’ve looked thru amigos.com but just out of curiosity, not to hook up with someone. I’m not really in the market for looking for a girlfriend. I do know some of the women who have signed up on amigos.com, and the ones I know are semi-pros or pros looking to meet a gringo and get out of Colombia. here is my two cents worth on marrying a colombiana or any latina for that matter and then bringing them to the states. don't even think about. all that sweetness, all the passion will fade very quickly.
they are only looking for a meal ticket guys! do not get fooled. especially if there is a 10 year plus age difference which usually is the case, she will learn very quickly that she can get anything she wants if she is hot. unless you are super rich she will usually end up with the highest bidder.
another point to consider is the fact that they are usually very hot only into their mid twenties (if they stick around) and shortly after that especially after kids and good old american diet and lack of basic activities such as walking (now they will drive everyplace), they are no longer hot or passionate . i have not met a hot latina over 30 especially after kids, for some reason the simply break down.
i am not trying to be negative but i could be awarded a ph.d. in the studies of foreign women and their metamorphisis once exposed to the american culture and peer pressures. i speak from experience!
my suggestion: enjoy the ladies, buy them gifts, even send them money from time to time if you really dig them because there are a lot of poor families(somebody from a rich family will not hook up with a gringo) and the older people do get sick and there is no decent health care for them. but do not spoil a good thing by taking them out of their environment .

Well first of all everyone please forgive me. I have an EXTENSIVE Colombia report for when I was there a few weeks ago and have YET to post it. I am here in Panama City, and things have really picked up (chica wise), so most of my time is taken up by spending time with chica, working, etc. So now thats out the way.
OK, my feelings / experience with amigos.com. First off, as I am sure everyone knows everyone will have different luck with amigos so my experience dealing with it is just that, MY experience. Well prior to arriving in Cali I sent out about 100-200 notes to anything that was cute. I got about 25-35 responses in total. Once I arrived in Cali, I was honestly overwelled with chicas, the mall, the hobby, etc. So the amigos.com chics came last on my list, simply because I did not have much time for them. Well anyhow, towards the end of my stay I called the best looking 4. Ok, this is what happend with them:
1. Went over her place, we hung out, I went in for the kill, she claimed I was moving to fast, so after that night we obviously never spoke again. There are so many chicas in Cali, pros, non pros etc, so a chic saying you are moving to fast is someone who never gets a call back.
2. Met her for a night on the town, we went out, danced, came back to my place and fucked.
3. Repeat of number 2.
4. We met my last day in town, she showed around to some sites in the city. She didnt look that good in person, just not my type, and she did not seem serious about getting down to it, which was perfect. She was more of the good girl type. So we just went to the mall, and she took me around the city.
In closing amigos.com is a great resource for material (chicas), once you get some communication with them you can take it where you want. Obviously I had good luck with the chicas that I fucked from amigos, but once again I do not think it is hard to duplicate if you send to at least 100 plus notes to chicas (and thats a high number). Actually now that I think about it, if anyone is heading to cali soon and wants to get a jumpstart on amigos.com chics send me a PM. I will send you a list of the chicas I fucked and would have fucked if I had more time in Cali.

I really think if you hook up with these girls you have to be open and honest up front and tell them you aren't looking for anything serious. Many of them are. There are a few that are just looking for pen pals and will hook up when you're in town but many of them are looking for a serious relationship.
I think EasyDoesIt makes some good points. While I don't think it's impossible to work if there is not too great of an age difference, have some similar interests, etc., It's a totally different story once you get them here. Damn, thought I was the only person that knew about the accelerated aging of many, but certainly not all, Latinas. I have dated several over the years and have literally watched them 'deteriorate' right before my eyes. I might add that if one wants to bring a Columbian to the States, being over 30 years of age should be a prerequisite.

You should not pay more than 30-35K (aprox $12-13 US @ 2500 pesos to the $) to your hotel Hotel San Fernando.
I generally pay 30K pesos to downtown Cali from the airport. You can take the bus I think for 2K pesos and then a taxi once you are downtown I would recommend this option if you speak spanish arrive during the day dont have much luggage and want a slight adventure. Depending on the time you arrive if you arrive at night take a cab.

San Fernando Hotel is in an area called San Fernando If I am not mistaken. It is on the way to the south of the city. It is a nice area. I like to stay in the west close to the Hotel Intercontential. Like the Dann Hotel or there are some nice hotels in the downtown area near Ave La sexta. Don Jamie is right on the strip. However too noisy for me. Distance is not an issue in Cali because taxis are so cheap. Downtown to you hotel should not cost you more than 5000 pesos $2 US at a bad rate of 2500 per Dollar. Taxis from point to point with the city is 2300 to 3000 pesos. All taxis have a meter and a bill card. Late at night they will propbably charge an extra 1000 pesos, I don't know why but this seem to be the norm. Use the ATM with a Visa card to get the best exchange rate usually 2650-2700 pesos the American dollar has taken a pounding since the war started. I remember last year I was getting close to 3000 pesos to a dollar.
When will you be in Cali I am trying to schedule a trip soon maybe we can meet for a beer.

I have been in the Hotel San Fernando, but even though it's not too far from the action( that is the north area) is a nice place. However if you want to be in the center of things there are other hotels you can stay at, or depending how long you will be staying you can get an apt for the money that you would be spending in hotels and wouldn't have to deal with the restrictions if you want to have a reunion or bring girls. I like hotels but I found it more amusing staying in an apt due to several advantages. I usually stay at a place called Terraces, I forgot how you say it in Spanish, my interpreter and guide translates even the names, but he could get you in touch with the one person who rents these apts. It's a very nice place if you want to check it out and it's just right there close to sixth avenue and the west side, in front there's a beer place where collage girls go hang out on the weekend, ( In Cali according to my guide-interpreter weekends start thursdays and Caleños call Jueves(thursday in English) Juernes, as trying to make it sound as Viernes, which means Friday) If you are staying at least two weeks and your budget allows it you should consider this option, but I wouldn't know if they had any vacancies at the moment.
