General Info

I have a question for anyone. I live in Costa Rica, so I am familiar with tropical weather. From looking at a map and doing some research I can see that there are highland areas of the DR. Are there any cities that are above 1000 meters? The DR looks nice but I don't like hot humid all the time. Or much of the time, for that matter. Any info would be appreciated.

There are NO major cities in DR that are at a high elevation. My memory is not 100% correct about this but there are two mountain ranges in Hispaniola. Both run through the middle of the island and are higher in Haiti than in DR. DR is more mountainous in the western part near the Haitian border. There are many small towns in that area that I don't think you should visit alone

If you like the cool temps of higher elevations, then I suggets you stay in CR or try Puerto Rico. It also has a mountain range through its middle and I have heard there is spectacular ecotourism in that area.

comparing it a bit with the town of Boquette (which even is much higer at about 2000meters above sealevel) in panama i can say that it was BORING,EXPENSIVE (many older ex-US militairy staff with higher fixed pensions) and I for myself never ever want to live in such a place.
I wonder if any monger wants to live in such a town because usualy hookers and the likes are hard to find here.
Apart from the fact it probably will be 5-10 centigrades Celsius cooler there are no known advantages;-)
Also there seems to be quite a chemical polution because of the farming.....

I want to know what cost a normal (no 1001 options cell phone!) plain cell phone with a card in the DR?
What i do know is that they have other system as in Europe,so i better leave my dutch cell at home. (that one wouldn't work anyway) besides that....phoning with my dutch cell would cost me more money:-(

Can any of you guys tell me where I can find a list of spanish phrases that are useful for our purposes? When I was in Brazil last year, I copied the phrases listed in the forum and they were EXTREMELY helpful. The girls got a kick out of me asking for specific "services" in their language.

If you can't direct me to a list, would you mind translating a few phrases for me? Let me know, and I'll send you a PM.

A few corrected corrections:

1.Cuantas horas estas conmigo?= How many hours are you with me??

Use tiempo for time in the abstract. Hora pertains to the hour itself. Cuanto tiempo puedes quedarte conmigo? How much time can you stay with me, e.g. for how long?

2. Que haces en la cama? "what do you do in bed"

The risk here is she says that she sleeps. Add gustar - e.g. Que te gusta hacer en la cama (conmigo) - what do you like to do in bed (with me)?

3. Puedo entrar en su trasero? "Can I penitrate your ass"??
