A lot of "el centro" which means downtown (literally "the center") will be blocked for big parities, bands, carnival games, etc. You'll need to get more info from her like a landmark / building / store / intersection than just "el centro" since it is a sea of people and things. At midnight there's fireworks (Adelita will have firecrackers inside the bar and it scares the hell out of me. Too much time hearing gunshots in Nuevo Laredo) and El Grito (the shout) which was the start of the revolution. The roads will fill with cars and people carrying Mexican flags and partying. Viva México.

Tomorrow there's a parade downtown and later Nortec Collective is playing. With the holiday on the weekend a lot of people should be out. This also will mean many may go to the US for the day so expect longer lines at the border (especially since only half of the car lanes are open due to the collapse yesterday).

This applies to all relationships (pros / semi-pros / non-pros).

My ex is a candidate to be Valedictorian at her local University, has won many awards for her academic excellence, will be working for a world class corporation when she graduates, is from MONEY, and STRANGELY enough had been asked to be an Abercrombie & Fitch model at one point in her life. Yeah Hugo you have to have a really thick skin and not really care much at all to be playing with that fire. You can never imagine what these girls go through, and it's best to try not to. I never ask my wife about her past and sometimes she tells me shit that I just do not want to hear. Luckily my wife got married at 16 in mexico so she was a working girl to only one guy, she's smarter than the average puta. It felt like the real thing. I have found out since then that she started using crystal meth and the guy that was doing the "autosequestro" (self kidnapping in English) with her was her dealer. I caught her in a few little lies but she always was able to talk her way around it. This was during the time that I was living in Mexicali every other week and in USA every other week. Her kids lived with us and it felt like a real family thing.

In November, it will be 5 years that they have been in prison. They both got sentenced to 9 years and 7 months. The minimum sentence for autosequestro was 7 years and the maximum was 15 years. The law has changed since then and the minimum has been increased to 12 years and the maximum to 20 years. They can get out in 2/3 of the sentence for good behavior.

I can only assume that she was acting the whole time. But it really felt like the real thing.

I will be in Tijuana this weekend arriving sometime Friday evening and leaving sometime on Monday afternoon. I have already set up an allnighter with one of my favorites for Friday night. She will meet me at midnight at my hotel. Almost agree with 95% of your post, with one small exception. I live in LA and travel to Tijuana via San Ysidro. I have done both walking and driving. Out of perhaps 50 or so trips in either directlion; I have only been searched once.

I walked into Mexico, and brought nothing illegal except an extra carton of cigarettes (beyond Mexican import duty-duty-free limits). Surprisingly, I was not stopped by Mexican Customs, but by the Mexican Marines. I guess that I fit their profile as a gun-runner. They did a quick check of my bags (maybe 45 seconds) and I was on my way again.

They didn't even bat an eye at the obvious exceeding of imports into Mexico.

I will add on item of interest to travelers further south of Tijuana. I drove to Puerto Nuevo for dinner (lobster at Casa Oscar and very recommended for bang for the buck. For newbies; just Google "lobster village + Mexico." There is a boatload of restaurants of the same venue.

However, I digress. The chica and I are heading back and I made a wrong turn, and ended up on the Old.

Highway 1, instead of the "new" 1 freeway. We were looking for an alternative on-ramp, and blundered into a highway check point. The checkpoint was run by Mexican Marines. Typical of marines worldwide; they were professional, but ain't going to take shit from anyone about civil rights, etcetra. They were very polite, but limited on English language. Best advice to readers is to remain calm, don't panic, and most of all don't do anything stupid in Mexico (e. G; drinking / driving, drugs, etc. The consequences are severe to moderate, either judically punitive or bribes, and this can change from cop to cop, due to the Calderon's elimination of bribery in police forces).

We were directed to exit the car, while two marines a short distance away, kept semi-automatic weapons trained in our general direction and the vehicle search area. The Marines were very professional, quickly checked the vehicle (I assume for weapons) , they offered polite apologies (translated by chica) and we on our way again. Took about 15 minutes total including waiting in line.

The CBP does indeed "profile." There was a program on cabletelevision, (History Channel, or something else; I can't remember exactly). They actually showed a "bust" start to finish. The young longlong-haired young man you mentioned, might fit the profile of a struggling student looking to make a few quick bucks. Us older guys don't really fit fit this profile. I'm not sure and don't want to cast wild generalizations around. I'm positive that they have a wider range of profiles easiiy at their disposal.

We have grey hair, a paunch stomach, out of shape, and have an overnight bag, with a few hundred dollars on our person. Us older guys, and we fit a US CBP profile perfectly.

Give her control, and she will get the feeling that you are on her string, and she can pull you in at any time. And why would I want one stateside things could get to complicated being married and having someone to close. Since I have returned from my last trip I have been feeling a bit of guilt. In my effort to try to keep this relationship from being about the money I have probably been a real dick. I mean if you go to visit an out of town friend and they are taking you all over the place you should at least offer to fill the gas tank or make sure you give them a nice thank you present at some point. So I was thinking of maybe heading down to Tijuana one morning with the sole purpose of meeting my GF at the Costco I have seen somewhere around the border and filling her car with a couple hundred dollars of groceries. Since her number 1 concern seems to be feeding the family it may be the best way to say thank you. So if anyone has an opinion on whether that is a good idea or a bad idea let me know.

One more thing I just got done reading SuperSteve's advice for Guitar and you are right on as usual. Keep sharing and dispensing all that knowledge you have gained through all those years of mongering. I know there are plenty of stories out there about getting fucked over by these chicas. But any vets have a story about finding that needle in a haystack, and then by not taking action letting her get away, and going on to regret it forever.

IMO the food idea sounds great. It will allow her to keep / spend on herself some of her "hard earned" income, while still providing the food that her family needs. IMO, a real class act, much better than buying her something that she may or may not want. With the money that she would have used to buy food she can buy something "she has wanted" for herself.

Another thought is to take her for a massage, then to her favorite salon, let her have her hair (colored & cut?) , make-up, nails done, and whatever else she desires (within reason of course) , while you sit with her patiently. Spoil her for the day, just make it about her and let her be taken care of for a change. She is so used to providing for others it would be a nice change for her to be taken care of, if only for those few hours. Let her know that you appreciate the sacrifices that she makes for her family, and what a special lady it makes her. I have found that women that are in the P4p arena often do not look at themselves as special for any reason. The more that you tell them this, and show them "you" believe they are, you will have helped her more than any amount of money could. Maybe a combination of food, and spoiling would be nice.

I have been telling my current favorita in Tijuana for a few months about how special she is. In the beginning she would actually look away, not respond, and seem embarrassed. I would tell her,"I have spoken my truth to you, why don't you accept it?" As we are sitting there now she will say from out of no where,"Yes I am" (this is the response that I have told her should be her answer). She sits up taller when she says it, her whole body language changes, and she lights up. While our "relationship" will eventually run its course, she now has a far greater gift than money could buy, better self-esteem. If you can make just one lady of the night, or anyone for that matter, feel better about themselves, IMO you have done something great, and wonderful.

You are a good man for even thinking about this. Many others would just brag about what they are getting for free. Do not discount this, and honor yourself for being such a good man.
