Citadines 23 has a small pool on the roof and a gym.

I want to take some pix of girls in my room so I'll be wanting to swap the bedside lightbulb for a daylight one I'll bring along. Also a red bulb for mood!
Does anyone know if Thailand uses screw-cap or bayonet bulbs, and if screw-cap do they tend to be large or small?

Many thanks![/QUOTE]The bulb socket size in Thailand for screw-in is E27. USA Size is E26 and will not work. In addition Thailand is 220 volts and U.S. Is 110 volt. Might be easier just to buy a new light bulb in Thailand than to bring one in.

Way better to buy one in Thailand after you have checked what type is actually used in the room.
I recently stayed at Double one by aspire or what ever the full name is. The place is above the new steak house and thus fairly new. The rooms are fresh, the bathroom was big and tasteful with frosted glass walls and good lighting. The essential part is to NOT get a room towards soi 11. You will listen to LOUD funky baselines all night from seven until late. It would frankly have been embarrassing to bring anyone to that room so I did not try the guest friendliness. A more quite room would probably be most sufficient for people in this price range.

So I always buy a new bulb or two. All 7-11's and Family Marts sell the bulbs at very reasonable costs. They're usually sold in a rack right by the front entrance of the store.

They're usually sold in a rack right by the front entrance of the store.[/QUOTE]Some newer Hotels have LED lighting that is quite inadequate, in fact I struck some Hotels off as simply not enough light to work on computer and some time no lights or powerpoints convenient to the room desk location. My apartment has too many downlights, so some are unscrewed to reduce total lighting and bill. The screw in socket looks smaller than back in my home country. Villa Markt, Foodland, Big C, and Tesco Lotus will have bulbs of course but probably not for photographic stuff. Plenty of Photography stores around.
Normal Hotels have mostly changed from Incandescent to Florescent, and in my experience mostly have screw in lights. I don't really recall much bayonet stuff, if any. I agree with others that the diameter probably varies from whatever is standard here to very small.

I hope this is the right place for this request. I will be in Bangkok for the first time over the summer and will be staying at the iSanook Residence Hotel. Its in the Bang Rak, close to Patpong and Rama VI road.
It seems like a new hotel, I was wondering if anyone knew if this was guest friendly? Also, how feasable would it be for travel to / from Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy?

Take a motorcycle 500 metres to Sam Yan Underground rail (MRT) station. Then catch the subway train to Sukhumvit Station. Its about 5 or 6 stops I guess. Short walk to Cowboy from there or 10 min walk to Nana. Can also catch a Motorcycle to various Massage shops or take the Skytrain from there.
If going to Ratchada Soapies, stay on the MRT several more stops.
From Bang Rak its a bit further to get to the skytrain directly, but by motorcycle taxi, no big problem. Late at night, after midnight, simply come home by taxi, since traffic jam will have dropped away.
In general the underground MRT and Skytrain BTS are your friends. Also Google Maps of course. Can be packed in peak hours. Very short distances, walk, intermediate distances, take motorcycle (in bad traffic jams) or back Sois, or taxi in light traffic. It's too hot to take motorcycle for any long distance, right now with cloudless skys getting frequent. In your summer it could rain too.
I did a quick survey of Pat Pong recently and nothing much impressed me. Even recommended bars were nothing special to me, such as Bada Bing.

My favorite budget Hotel has been Mermaid in recent times. I don't really go cheaper than that. Grand Mecure Asoke soi 19 is next step up in class and Column Hotel for a step higher and fabulous views. Admiral Premier only if they have a bargain price going. All my suggestions are close to intersection of Sukhumvit and Asoke as close to both BTS and MRT and Massage shops and bars.
I should add I currently rent. Haven't used a Hotel for at least a year other than short time Hotels close to the action. I don't take girls home to my rented apartment. I get a proper Hotel if want to keep girl for the night
