Medellin Reports

Saw Freckle again for the first time in "awhile". She was my anchor girl at the start of this trip and I spent my first five nights here with her at her hotel, in a dangerous part of El Centro.

I think I posted that I stopped seeing her after a disappointing session when she bailed out early and asked for money. It's my second day in Medellin (and Latin America in general). On the first day I was stunned by the amount of foot traffic, loudness and chaos in el Centro. Honking, vendors yelling on speakers, whistling, motorbikes coming from every direction but sky. The the amount of near miss traffic accidents I saw so far is mindboggling. I learned I should always expect incoming motorbike, even on the sidewalk behind me. It feels like I need to have all my wits about not get run or stepped over while walking around. Hopefully I'll get used to it after a while. Oh and the traffic lights are just a suggestion. Haven't seen so many sneaker shops at one place too.

I Went to Grill Nueva Avenida yesterday. Not very classy. Plastic garden chairs, music blasting and hardcore porn running on the TV. Ordered water and was approached by a girl the moment I sat. The fact that I "no hablo espanol bien" didn't faze her, she wanted to use translator right away which we did on my phone. It's not very smooth to do it in both directions in the same app, would be better if she had her phone.

Later I hung around the metro station to check where to buy a metro card. Again, the long queue, so maybe tomorrow. Stopped for a bit for people watching. Was approached by some young guy saying something, once I said I don't speak Spanish he touched his tummy and made the universal sign for cash. It surprised me and I just said "no". He didn't look rundown at all, probably better dressed than me. Anyway that spoiled my peace a bit and knowing he hovers somewhere behind me made me leave after a while.

Then I went on a walk down the street with a row of palm and park with a monument, fountain and the massive church at the of it. Some locals were standing around in the park, one of them extended a fist to bump while I was passing. Not sure what was the the meaning of that but I bumped without changing my pace and saying anything and continued on my way. The street behind the church seemed run down and empty so I decided to turn around and continue to look for supermarket. Found a well stocked Exito and did some shopping, spent like 10 minutes waiting in the queue.

I also walked down Avenida de Griff earlier but turned back after while at some small park with lots of homeless since it seemed too sketchy and the further I went the more heads seemed to turn.

Will try some other centro casas. Definitely not ready for SWs yet until I get more used to the surroundings, get better lay of the land and memories some more Spanish phrases.

I read the board every now and then, because it seems to be the same words re appearing over and over. I think I will get back to posting on the regular, just to make sure that we are in the same Medellin. I come to Medellin damn near every month. I still have my home in Medellin, still have the same girlfriend of 3 years. Any American who is still in the job market and working in the USA in corporate America or working for self who has not made a killing in the last 3 years, must be living on another planet.

The return of pesos for dollars is at an all time high for me, nearly 4,200,000. 00 pesos to every $1000.00. So if you are really financially set or know how to function in Medellin, Medellin is still a gold mind. I can tell you this, I saw a girl recently, that told me that she works in Poblado and the 120 mil I once gave her would no longer work. I said ok, but I damn sure am not paying $300 mil for the same Centro chic I once banged for 50 mil. I left the date open if she wanted to make some extra money, she could come see me, for unrestricted sex without limitations. I would giver her $150 mil for 2 hours. She called me and she came by, I banged her in every position and did everything my mind could think of.

The greatest event of the date that left me speechless was this centro chic had an Iphone 13 pro max. So I have no idea if she robbed someone or she laid down some good sex and one of you unsuspecting guys bought her a $1500 dollar phone, good luck with that. I know what the naysayer will say, its only one girl, I was with nounce recently and VsebudeNY we were all in Centro together at night and there were girls everywhere. I wasn't feeling well that day, but no one was asking outrageous prices. I will always say and continue to repeat. It's all about a monger's comfort zone. If you are not comfortable in Centro and you need a crutch to say that the girls in Poblado are better, do you, no one is going to blame you. But for the kindness of us who love Centro, don't throw dirt on the centro scene because the majority wants to say that centro chics are cheap and dirty. Some of us like cheap dirty chics who do tricks or us at a set rate and charge others more when they go out to Poblado. Pollo Negro is out!

These forums always existed but reports have always been more toward a "trip report" and not a daily update and daily adventure of mongers banging stories, eating and detail of entire lifestyle of every minutes it seem. So you're right, excessive daily reports especially during the past pandemic years I noticed bought a whole new set of mongers in the game. It's good and bad. As mongers there's always a different comfort zone for many and for some there is multiple ways of doing things.

My only gripe is the scene at lleras use to be a nice scene and I simply stated it has become Sosua all over again.

But different than Sosua is the fact that now the lleras area has become somewhat a haven for the local criminals.

Even some cops are in on it with some of the girls who drug guys. I know it's a strong statement but it is true.

Have you guys noticed there's a drugging almost every other day in the poblado area or a robbery story.

This is what happens when you bring attention and act like a hot shot and act like you're better than people in another country.

Colombia is far more "cash oriented" than you are used to. People were getting money out of the cajeros (ATMs) to pay rent and monthly expenses. It is July 1st afterall.

You were smart to decline the stripper's invitation to take her to your hotel for exactly the right reason. One of villainy's rules. When you're here on vacation, you don't see one girl 10 times you see 10 girls one time. Enjoy yourself. Besides street-walkers, casas and strip clubs you might want to learn to use FB and expand your range of possibilities. Also if you enjoy your visit and plan on doing it again, suck it up and start taking some Spanish classes. It isn't obligatory, but you're staying in El Centro, and a little (actually a lot) Spanish would help on many fronts.

There were not as many girls in general back in those days. Families would still go to Lleras for Sunday dinner. It's a mixed bag of locals there, mostly harmless, but I'm sure if you flashed some cash or bling, there's a good chance you'd get robbed. There are a couple of casas right there too, a block or two east of the church. I prefer the Exito Junin. There are a couple ATMs in that area there too. It's a nice, safe, shopping area where you won't stand out, something you don't want to do after visiting an ATM.

It does get a little sketch past there down De Greiff, but it's not too bad during the middle of the day. If you go even further, you'll find the Plaza Minorista, which is a very large food market of sorts, which I personally found interesting.

If you want to get the Civica card, you need to go to San Antonio station with your passport, on the second floor, enter the station, it's on the left. There is always a line.
