That and the small amount of money they got for drinks was not enough to sustain them. They made their money by going with customers. As soon as the Arab took over bars in soy cowboy, the coyote model came about where girls were signing 10-day contracts for 10,000. So all of a sudden they could make 30 k by just showing up and dancing, and along with their drink supplement make plenty of money to get by. This was not good for punters. And along with knowing they had enough income to survive they could then be pickier and charge more for their services.

I am probably on the top 5% earners or tax payers in the land of free. I think, I would appear as a rich Indian corporate dude just by the looks, but only after a conversation someone might know my western background. To them, if you look Indian, you are a poor bum on a boys cheap charter looking to share a coke. There are bad apples who behave badly irrespective of how look and how people assume where the person is from. I believe problem in Thailand is lots of Indians go there because of proximity and cheap fares and cheap living and cheap pussy. India is conservative and with LE problems not easy to have fun.

I believe to have a good time ignore the racial profiling and do your own thing. Thailand caters to everyone irrespective of which country they come from. If you are ignored in one place there are others who welcome you.
