I think it was a six-girl day but the number is not important. The crowd was just right, not to big or small with little or no lines for everything. The closest emotion I can describe would be bliss.

We got home around 11 P. We were all pretty high and a little drunk and I don't remember much other than I was sitting at my computer and Catgirl said Scarlet and she decided to go out to a disco. I was invited to come but they knew I would stay behind in our room at The Nutti and not want to go. My all-night disco days are pretty much behind me but I did not want to stop two pretty twenty year-olds from having a fun night out.

[/QUOTE]Pure speculation but I suspect it's largely in part a reaction to due to rising inflation in countries where Colombia imports from. The US and China are Colombia's largest trade partners, covering almost half Colombia's imports at around 10 billion each. As the costs of transmission equipment, cars, petroleum products, medicine, and corn go up, the dollar (and yuan) get a bit stronger. In some ways, it doesn't affect the majority of Colombians as they're still buying and selling everything in their day to day lives in pesos. They will start seeing the cost of those imports rise and feel some of the effects of inflation. As a country, Colombia is in a pretty good spot so I don't expect too much in terms of long terms effects.

Please take that all with a huge grain of salt. I'm still of the opinion that trying to time the market is largely gambling. Smarter people than myself have lost more than I'll ever see in the Forex market.

Politically speaking, shouldn't the election of a leftist president cause devaluation of the USD, when the exact opposite has happened? Or is this simply a reaction and response before the new guy actually takes office?

Who the fuck knows but predictions about what the market does are generally pure speculation and I believe no one truly understands the overall big picture, although a lot of folks pretend to do so. No matter what your viewpoint in these situations, you can usually find a roughly equal number of qualified folks with the opposite opinion.

If you try to use Spanish along with the correct accent mark, the text editor makes changes. That's why typing Medellin correctly gives you Medellíand. Or the proper way to write cuidate gives see youídate.

I believe some of the things can be changed by the admins, but it's probably not worth the effort.

1) Rising interest rates in the US is making dollars more attractive to hold and nearly all other currencies go down relative (look at the GBP and Euro). Emerging markets hit worse than established ones.

2) Declining price of oil recently (although still high historiclaly) which is Colombia's largest export and driver of GDP.

3) Petro winning which is expected to reduce foreign investment and grow national debt. He did name a moderate central banker as his Finance Minister so that has tempered some expectations.

4) Belief that the populace will want to push through more progressive measures and anecdotal evidence of rich Colombians accelerating their movement of money outside of the country (I. E. The rich and businesses don't even think it's safe to keep money in-country).

5) Ukraine / Russia. At any time there is a conflict that could expand worldwide people will seek out more stable currencies. On the flip side, the conflict initially causes a dramatic increase in the price of oil which should have helped the COP.

6) Budget deficit. Colombia had to run a bit hot with a 7% or 8% deficit during Covid.

The amazing thing to me is the exchange rate given the historically high price of oil. Without Petro I bet it would be around 3500 to 3700 right now.

I also think fear momgering with a view to create speculatory gains is also at play. History shows us these things usually blow over and settle down soon. Not sure whi this short term variance will penalise iIn a practical sense.

I'm looking forward to Tuesday and pulling again at 4,420 (or close to it). Once a person learns how the XE rate and the Visa Exchange rate work you can really maximize your withdrawals.
