Went to Centro today to visit MV30 and then 4x4. I got out of 4x4 at 9:30p and there was nobody on the streets on Rio Branco. At the street corner, there's usually food vendors but I didn't see anybody. At the Uruguiana Station, there's usually a ton of people out front. Tonight, there was only about 15 and they were all crowded around in a circle to witness a man who broke his neck and was being carted off in an ambulance. Not sure if he got in a fight or what happened. Maybe it's all my imagination, but I think it's usually still pretty crowded in Centro before 10 pm.

Conversely, at 4x4 there were a lot of garotas and the usual large number of dudes.

Kids are out of school (some because teachers are not showing up). This violence is not confined to the favelas. People in Ipanema are afraid to go out onto the streets.

This is not senseless violence. And it is not about short-term financial gain. It is about making a statement. "If you think you can control us, think again." "You come to us, we come to you." This problem is not going to just go away. The question is how effective will the government be in dealing with it?

Wow...How about earlier in the day - say 6 PM - when usually Rio Branco is full of people? Is there violence on the road from the international airport to centro?

Would you stay it is best to stay away from the city if not absolutely essential?

I have been here a few days and thought I'd contribute with a small report. My intention so far has been to step off the beaten path and try some cheaper termas/places and this is new to me. Normally I visit the top-end termas and check out girls at Balcony (Help in the past).
I was encouraged by the great reports by Torgoch recently. And I was reading Bubbas guide to get more details of other places also (thanks to Bubba and Torgoch!).

I met up with Torgoch yesterday and we visited some of those cheaper termas in Centro that he has already reported of, so no need to tell more of them. Permanently or just for today, I don't know since I never went up there to see for myself.

So I came to Dudas at Rio Branco 156. I had to change to a different elevator to reach floor 33, and at sala 3320 it was. I was introduced to maybe 7 girls and one blonde short-haired girl named Marcele (sp?) caught my eye and it was her bunda that interested me. With this report I just wanted to confirm what has already been said about these cheaper places; that true gems can be found. Thanks to Bubba, Torgoch and others that has reported about this and inspired me to try it for myself.

i got to uruguaiana station at 6:30 pm. i walked over to rio branco and it seemed fairly normal. i think people rep001tered fast after it got dark. so far, i have been going on with my business in copa and ipanema. today was the first day i attempted to go to centro and luckily, nothing bad happened. the other day, a bus was set on fire early in the morning, but luckily it was stationary and nobody was in it. there have been bomb threats around ipanema and other places, but i haven't really witnessed anything. only seen and heard things on the local news.

i took the bus from the airport to ipanema on monday, where it goes through centro. a lot of traffic but nothing unusual. i think this wave of violence started on tuesday, the day after i arrived. meanwhile, inside the termas, all the garotas talk about all the "perigosas" (dangers) around town.

So after the great session with Marcele I decided to try Termas 21, which is just a few minutes walk past 4x4. I liked the place and there were two saunas that I was enjoying. Three drinks were included in the entrance price which was R$ 20. I would say that there were some doable girls there and quality was about on par with the line-up on MV30. Not bad at all. Prices slightly higher than MV30 but the facilities were also a step up in standard to MV30 IMO.

After several rounds in the saunas and checking the girls out, I decided to go to 502. It is in the same area and just a few minutes walk. Immediately when I came in to the main bar area I noticed a girl with a great, great bunda. The thing was simply beautiful. I couldn't stop staring at the bunda, but I was not sure if it was the right timing to session again with having two pops less than two hours ago.

I was talking to a few girls and also with this bunda-girl that calls herself Mirella. Her approach was business-like and she wanted to know if I wanted to session with her or not. Not sure about violence on the road from the airport in, but the property manager arranged to have a car for me 2 hours before i needed to be at the airport because traffic is usually horrible. At 7pm Thursday night, it took me only 25 minutes from Copa to the airport. Driver said it was because of the "policia" lockdown.

This should not be a problem, I know a few people that live in Rio that regulalrly pick up an extra women to join them. Really any place will be fine to ask a women to join you. Terma Luomo you can occasionally see a women in a robe with a man looking to grab one of the girls, well over 50% of working girls will go with a women there. Terma Luomo I believe is the only terma that allows this. The lido clubs like Barabarellas you also see this, it is expensive there though, R$ 300 - R$ 400 plus entrance free exit fee, could easily run R$700+

A nice place to go is the Whiskeria Manhattan (associated with Cancun) in Centro. It is a regular bar so she will not have to change into a robe. The rooms are nice for threesomes and even comfortable for foursomes. Be prepared for the cost as they will charge you double the regular price for a session.

Centro at any time is usually busy during business hours Mon-Fri and not necessarily so at other times. In terms of any greater possibility of violence etc than usual, you can see the general spread of info on here and within that use your own instincts and comfort zones. I don't really think it is possible to generalise.

Personally I don't have a problem who you show the BB guide to. I will say one thing though, the prices are a guide only, many places change their prices quickly, it is hard to keep up. Hence, if the price is close it is probably ok. If the prices is way off then that is a red flag.

The session you had was a real score at Dudas, if they hit you for R$10 more on the price you must weigh it up with what you got. Hence really can't complain there. R$95 for 2 pops with a babe, really can't complain. US$ 60 for a whole lot of fun!

In regards to girls at 502 and most cheap places, they generally are only given one condom, hence the 1 shot rule may be enforced. For me 1 shot is enough although I do carry my own condoms to these places, hence if i need to use a second it is not a problem. I have had many a girl insist on trying for a second pop at 502 and other T's, I guess being known by some of the girls you get treated a lot better.

The secret to increasing your chances of a better experience at all places is to screen the girls very well.
