I think that every girl has her price, like every guy has his price point. Just arrived in Thailand for first time since March, with my 3 weeks stay being split between BKK and Hua Hin. Some initial observations on what's changed in the last 9 months:

1) I normally stay on Soi 8 and sometimes walk across the road and up Soi 11. There was a growing number of small beer bars on the left hand side of the road, but they have all gone (to be replaced by a big hoarding prior to some large office block appearing?)

2) The Beer Garden on Soi 7 is gone, to be replaced by lots of little bright shiny beer bars (perhaps those from Soi 11 have relocated). Place looks a bit of a mess.

3) Lots of black girls offering their services outside the Novotel on Soi 4. Mostly average looking.

4) Chating with girls on TF. Most from BKK looking for around 3 k, those from HH appear happy with 1.5 k.

5) Lots of nice looking girls outside Thermae. I'm the wrong side of 60 and English, but all the girls I made eye contact with smiled at me (and would probably have done a turn if I was interested).

To help shake off the jet lag I tried Wood bar on Soi 7 for a BJ (never been before). OK service but nothing special. What do you expect for 800 B.

If you live here, know your way around, know the game, it's worth it if you're willing to put the time in. If you don't live here, it's throwing the dice. You could very well end up in the middle of nowhere with some 45-year-old that was 21 online.

If you go to the far end of the bar area, to the fence on the alley down to Soi 5, and look CLOSE, that's what the Beer Garden has [B]SHRUNK[/B] to. A small horseshoe bar, Beer Garden sign above, with a couple of pool tables in front. When I was there last month, some other members of my [I]generation[/I] were spotted walking down soi 7, looking around, rather bemused. Mamasan went running out to the street with a "It's here, it's here, this is the Beer Garden". Well, at least its tombstone. Another way to spot: if you remember the alter and the tree at the OLD garden's entrance? The tree is still there (though Mamasan said the other tree had been cut down - "for money").

I shook off my jet lag today at Meet the World, didn't have to ring. Lady outside; 3 more inside. Age range 25 to 40, no stunners but very doable.
