Nobody will trace your number back to the ID. Unless you commit some crime, but in that case you're screwed anyway, get a lawyer.

Most people use a fake name for mongering. Pick a common name. Like arjun or similar. You can use truecaller to update your profile to match your fake name, that way on first glance its a match.

Try to use cash at all times. Paytm if you're short. avoid directly swiping your card.
