I order since 6 years a private taxi from Pattaya. The car is a mini van, always new, clean and very comfortable. The driver is loyal and faithful.
We communicate via sms, so that he knows my flight number and arrival time. I also use his taxi if I need a closed taxi in Pattaya – going to U-Tapao airport or somewhere else in Pattaya or the surrounding areas. The prize is a little bit more expensive than normal taxis or bus – I pay for Bkk – Patty 1.500 Bath, for Patty – U-Tapao 1000 Baht and for a trip from North Patty to Jomtien 150 Bath.
OK, it is more expensive, but for me it is important to have a loyal driver, a secure car and someone I can call at every time I need him. That is worth for me to pay the difference between normal prizes and that kind of comfort.

I am ging to be in Pattaya mid November 08 till mid April 09 and need a 1 bedroom or large Studio in the area, preferably of Soi Dianna. If it is a walkup first floor would be OK but anything higher and I would need an elevator. Clean and serviced, not noisy. I would pay 9000 b month. Is that reasonable for a 5 month contract? I'm sure the price and location is very possible, but Soi Diana location in my personal opinion isn't consider to be quiet! Maybe others here in Pattaya know better.

how much comfort do you require? There actually isn't much with ground floor access on Diana. Perhaps Sawasdee Pattaya for your price range (maybe not - it all depends on what "deal" they would make), but I don't remember if they had easy access from the street level to the lobby. They DO have a lift

Otherwise I know of a couple of "other" places not on Diana but with BASIC facilities (and I DO MEAN basic) A/C rooms on Soi10 off 2nd road

Thanks Gents! I am just an old fart with golf clubs to carry each day and that is the reason for elevator need above 1st floor. I have stayed at the Swasadee Pattaya and it was very noisy with crazy drunk Russians. Last year I stayed at Charlie Place which was good but best rate I got was 800b.

I would certainly consider a decient place at Soi 10 and 2nd Road, just reasonably close to Soi Dianna as that is where I plan to play most of my golf from. Your help is really appreciated!

After 2 years I am on my way back to Pattaya later this month. I have been several times and it is always a blast. Returned last week from my second of three annual visits to Pattaya from the depths of Isaan. On this occasion my visit was limited to just two and half days.

Is a budget of 800USD(for threedays in Bangkok)+Airfare from Chennai reasonable for this trip in August? Given my age, I would not be able to go more than two pops a day.
