I can not help you much, because I find SW more exciting, but I kindly ask you to report how is the situation with the hotels on "normal" days.
If you read some of the past reports, during Canton fair you are not allowed to bring a guest in your room after 11 p.m.

I stayed at the Garden Hotel. Without any information I ventured out around nine to look for some action within the vicinity of the hotel. On the opposite side of the hotel behind the Best Western Hotel, I came across a sauna called Bayun Leisure Center. They had a menu in English with 90min massage + HJ at RMB400 and 90min massage + BJ at RMB600. Icould get the BJ option down to 520 which was probably still overpriced. Performance of massage and BJ were ok, but nothing to praise or complain about.

Back at the hotel I happened to share the elevator with a mama-san and one of her Girls whom she was probably delivering. She had a room key card and the security guard knew her. She asked me whether I wanted a room service, but I declined for obvious resons. As I left the other morning I didn't get her tel number either.

Oh Gawd.... I'm gonna be told to RTFF for sure!!

for a couple nights next week playing host to a couple who does not know of/would probably NOT look approvingly of my "hobby!!" Would guys mind answering the flwg questions?

1. Is Huashi gonna be a Girl Friendly hotel - Oh I know I know - most hotels in china ARE GF - but this hotel is suppossedly part and parcel of and invested by the Huashi South China Normal University. PLus in the past - when trying to check in to a hotel close to the GZE train station with a "friend' in tow - had been told outright that they will NOT allow unregistered "guests' in and that if I wanted to register my friend in, I must also produce matrimonial proof!! True!! And this was only a year or so ago!! (plus of course I see all these posts about hotels not allowing 'guests' in after 11 pm during the now past Canton Trade Fair)

2. Tianhe Tianhe.... should not be a problem for "good" saunas/K-OK at the - or a nearby - hotel - right? But I really would not have the time to partake of these pleasures and would need to conveniently go to a nearby BBS or do a call in to my hotel room. Question is - where are these BBS's in Tianhe. If not - anybody got good phone numbers to call?

3. This may seem a daft question - but what would you guys suggest as far as entertaining/hosting my couple - a Youngish very highly educated and rather conservative professional couple? Any good, reasonably priced and native to GZ type restaurants, Bars, Clubs? Must see sightseeing places?? Jeez - when was the last time I played "regular tourist?"

4. Come to think of it - what is the name of that Big Disco surrounded by a Chinese type garden with sitting out areas here and there on the side of a hill. It's in town and a very pleasant place to have drinks and chit chats - whilst ogling the young and stylish GZ Yuppie crowd. Anybody know which place I mean and the address? (Damn - I used to go there pretty regularly everytime I get to GZ in the past.... and now I've forgotten??!! Jeez - OWL's probably right ... I AM getting old!!)

4. Any other suggestions/information will be mucho appreciated. Gracias!

Ps. Oh Jeez.... Just went back to the Huashi website (via the Canton trade fair site) and found out that it don't even have a night OR health club!! Plus.... even though described as 4 star, is also called a HOSTEL and not a hotel!

This hotel is right across the main road from the Garden Hotel, go directly to the 2nd floor, there you will find some girls standing to direct to you to either the Club (KTV) I guess or the Sauna / Massage. In my last stayed in GZ I tried the massage for 199, it basically sucks, however the girl told me that if I was interested, and then she showed me the menu with Sauna with "beautiful girl" for 498 or so. But I was disappointed so rejected the offer for next time, which came last night. So I told the hostess to get me to the Sauna, she took me there after walking a large corridor and a staircase to the 3rd. Floor, where two girls with a decent enough English, explained to me the service available oil massage with HJ for 498 or BJ for 598. I chose the BJ, the girl offering the service was very specifically " can not touch the girl only with mouth"! ? , after that the typical routine of getting undressed shower and into a small room with two massage beds. It was early in the afternoon so the place was deserted. After a few minutes my girl came, a bit on the chubby side, with nice attitude, looks on the 7, started with a sort of massage but got directly to play with my little bro. After some 10 mins. Of lackluster rubbing, she started to tell me if I wanted sex, I said yes, she said go to your hotel room, I really did not like her that much so I played dumb. She then took out some plastic wrap around my boy and started the BJ, not too good so finished with a BJ. When I returned to the showers talked a bit with the towel boy and told me that the fun started by 8 pm, many girls to choose from. Will try it tonight? , may be.

See my report about the same sauna two posts below. I was there around 21:00 but it was deserted too. I didn't let me trade up to a BJ for some time until she phoned the manager and after a short discussion over the phone she offered 520. I also insisted that I only have BBBJ or nothing. I spent the night at the Guangdong Victory last weekend. It is a really nice hotel on Shaimian Island and excellent value at around 450RMB on elong or ctrip. A beautiful place but lots of Americans adopting Chinese babies gives the place a bit of a weird vibe.

I had done some research before I left and a very old post mentioned full service in the Sauna but wasn't very specific. When I checked in, I asked the bell boy (in Mandarin) if the sauna was full service, he said it was and also gave me a mobile number for delivery (ie not from the sauna). I went to the sauna and asked discretely again about full service, the receptionist pulled out a calculator and punched in an amount somewhere around 500RMB.

Unfortunately I had to go out to dinner and ran out of time to sample the service. Hopefully another monger can use this info to try it out and add another place to reasonably few options in GZ. If anyone goes, please post!

Funny, I have just been at the Victory Hotel last weekend and after I had seen that Sauna place at previous visits at that hotel I decided to give it a try this time.

I stayed at the Western (new) building which is a 2 minutes walk away from the sauna. You can bring a girl to your room but you cannot use the elevator without your room key (which is not the case in the eastern building). In the afternoon I met a "BBS-take-away" in the elevator. She just finished with her customer and offered me her services but I declined.

However, the business hours of the sauna are from 1 pm to 6 am and I went there in the evening at 8:30 pm. And oh yes, they offer full service. I tried the whole package and after more than 3 hours inside I paid 600,. RMB. I had the sauna, foot and leg massage which was just so-so (each massage was 38,. RMB) and 90 minutes in a private room with a bit crazy but very enjoyable, tall girl from Chongqing. It seems they mostly have quite tall girls there: a Chinese guy ordered a specific girl at the foot massage room and as she was not at work the manager tried to call her. Without success and so they brought a line-up in the public massage room and all of the girls were taller than 1. 65 m. As I was a first-time customer they didn't sow me a few girls to choose from but as I liked the Chongqing girl the first moment I saw her I didn't complain.

English was spoken by all managers and overall it was a quite relaxing and comfortable time. Only donwside was that they try to sell and charge you for everything (massages for feet, legs, arms, pedicure, pyjamas and even the tea and fruits). One further thing I have never seen at a sauna: in the public massage room the have a kind o business center with 4 computers connected to the internet and I don't know whether they charge for the use of it. But it wouldn't be a surprise though.

My girl received a text message from a guy from Shanghai after her job with me was done at 11:30 pm and she asked him whether she should come to his hotel (China Hotel), so it seems that regular customers can pull out the girls from the sauna to their room.

That's what I did and I did have a good time in Guangzhou after all.

First, I got invited to a Beauty contest at Baiyun Convention Centre (don't even think of going there without arangements for transport out as there's nothing else there - and definitely not taxis!!) and it was quite an experience. I was made to come early for the rehearsals - which is when (according to my friend) the time to get to know the gals and extract a few "contacts." Only a modicum of success on this endeavour as I was too busy eyeing ALL the gals, plus the gal accompanying my friend - one of the judges, and a Shenzhen model - was just way tooooo delicious!!

Then OAH invited me to a Wine tasting party at the Garden hotel - and I couldn't believe my eyes looking at how many Chinese are actually tasting....wine!! I mean, these guys and gals actually looked as if they knew what they were doing!! OH OK, there were a few plonkers who just drank as much free wine as they could wrangle from the exhibitors - but for the most part, most attendees did seem to know how to do wine tasting. This was followed by a brief tour of the BBS areas behind the Garden hotel - but then it was time to go to OAH's buddy's Italian restaurant at the Home garden Mall for a deliciojs meal.

Early morning is NOT a good time for mongers - and thus I decided that the best thing to do was to arrange a city tour for the young professional couple I hosted. Now I'm an expert on the tourist sites of GZ!!!! (yeah - right!!). The Chen Clan temple, Sun Yat Sen memorial, Jiamen island, Ersha island ,the 5 Goat statues, shang yia lu, beijing lu - been there done that. Even buying RMB75, 30" real pearl necklaces at the jewelry wholesale market. Yup, done that.

Some highlights are those places I knew from before -
- Made in Kitchen Fusion Restaurant (8/F Mayflower Mall, Beijing Lu), that magnet for the GZ yuppies with the dramatic lighting, catwalk, soaring roof and totally out of this world toilets (anybody want 4 X RMB10 discount coupons I was given when paying the bill?),
- The Golf Club (N. Gate of Yuexiu Park, Huanshi Zhong Lu) - a KTV/Disco main building smack in the middle of a park with a labyrinth of outdoor seating areas, pagodas, huts spread all over the place - where one can watch a parade of the young and beautiful of GZ.
- Teem Mall in Tianhe (thanks for the heads up superforce!) which is just perfect for the visitor to browse and eat at.

OH OK, I did do a bit of mongering - dropped off at the intersection of Zhongshan Daidaoxi and Tian fu Lu (close to where I was staying at) I wondered around and managed to get a quicky HJ as I was tired and couldn't bother to hunt up any other services. A bit expensive at RMB100 - but what the heck. It was conveneint!!

BTW - I stayed one night at the San Mao hotel, 374 Huan Shi Dong Lu 020-8386-3979 just behind the Garden hotel on their executive floor and its a damn good deal at RMB 248. I figure that the executive floor was previously a Unotel floor as nobody's bothered to take down the Unotel Sign outside!

Unotel is a hotel mgmt outfit that habitually contract one or two floors of an older hotel, convert the rooms A'La Philip Starck (all modern, minimalist - and cheap to furnish!!) and then use their own booking system to rent the rooms out to their own clientelle.

There are cheaper rooms at this hotel and although I didn't bother to see them, I figure that they are really old and run-down - and not worth to stay at for the RMB 60-80 savings. But for those wanting real bargain accomodations - this may be a good choice as the location - (like I said, just behind the Garden hotel and most of the ISG publicized mongering locations) - cannot be beat.

Plenty of talent all around this area from bbs to street girls, to bar girls and high end and Russian.
