I recently was stuck in Pekanbaru for a couple of months and was dreading my time there, till I realised that there are actually quite some things happening. A small summary:

Clubs / Bars:

The only "decent" place is called "Score!" and is located in the Jatra hotel next to "Mal Pekanbaru". It reminded me a lot of the "NoName" bar in Batam. Live music till 12 with some reasonable singers / dancers after which the DJ starts rocking. Glamour is a similar concept and located on Jl. Nangka, quite close to Delta but on the other side of the main street. The girls wore bathing suits that had an actual padlock.
