Your first question is more complicated.

The Mansion is a great place, for some people. Most of the people who will tell you bad things about it have never been there. For a certain style of mongering it is perfect. For other mongering styles it's a waste of money.

If you have never been to Medellin, never mongered solo in a foreign country, don't speak Spanish and aren't the adventurous type, you will probably be very happy with the Mansion.

That's one reason I hate Apple, repair costs are egregious.

Different chica rolled-up on by two guys on a motorcycle while she sits at Boston Park holding her infant child, and rob her at gunpoint of her iPhone, you replace it with a nice Motorola that costs half a million pesos. You tell her if she can hold onto the Motorola for one year, you will buy her another iPhone. She does, and you buy her an iPhone Pro13. One week later she gets robbed at knifepoint to eyeball, and you replace it with another same, iPhone that she still has but now she is not talking to you anymore for other reasons.

Different chica, robbed at gunpoint while she sitting in a taxi and using her iPhone that you bought for her. You have told her twenty times not to pull out her phone when she is in a taxi but she is oblivious to this advice. You buy her another iPhone. Less than a month later, she gets robbed and beat up in front of her apartment in Castilla by another chica for her iPhone. You tell her that her iPhone days are over. Two months later you buy her a used iPhone from one of her friends that she still has.

Same Moto chica from above, shows you her new iPhone that her rich novio from the Domincan Republic bought her. Now she has two iPhone Pro13's. You suggest it might be decent of her to return the iPhone you bought her to you since your old Samsung got stolen by an irate tranny at Ground Zero, and you are using a cheap burner phone that cost 1/10 of what you paid for her iPhone. She says she will sell you the iPhone that you bought for her for what amounted to a 5% discount, jaja.

Those are the ones I remember off the top of my head. I did not add up how many phones that comes to, jajaja. Not a good look for me, makes me look like a dumb shit, valid argument about which I happen to not agree. I don't care what other people think.

Oh, you should also realize the chicas don't really give a shit about the phone. They want the best camera on the market, that happens to be a phone.

I know what some of you are thinking (usually several steps ahead). The chicas were making up some of these stories to get phones. For every one of those stories above, multiply it by 10-15 for the number of times chicas tried to get phones out of me, but didn't. So I am not quite as gullible as you may think. Perception is reality and for reasons I won't expand upon, I believed those stories above.

The main point being, beware, it really is a jungle out there for stealing the upper branded phones, particularly, iPhones.

Pearl: From a distance the thieves are looking at the number and size of the lenses on the back of the phone to identify the iPhones for their targets. They make escutcheons or phone cases that have little sliding covers that will hide these lenses that I recommend using.

Saying it's a "waste" or some other value judgement is irrelevant, unless the poster is speaking for himself only. I would do it all again, but I have slowed the pace a bit, jajajaja. I get it, very hard for other guys to relate to a situation they would never consider, or just as, if not more likely, be able to complete even if they wanted to do so. Not saying you do.

The first step in psychologically protecting one's sense of self, is to reject concepts and behaviors that are too foreign for to conceptualize into one's own thought processes. That is mostly what is going on here, and not any real harm or waste or bad behavior.

The Admin will still watch for blatent violations of Forum Rules but other than that it would be up to the user who started it to police the thread from being hijacked for purposes other than intended or start a discussion in the thread that widely off topic and ruins the idea of having the thread for purposes of being specific.

I have been reading the Medellin Reports thread for a few years and I have seen more Centro regulars call for a Fayboo thread because they do not want to read about Fayboo but then there are those who do only Fayboo who would want a Centro only thread. I have only been to centro a couple of times myself and since having knee surgury that made my knee worse I prefer to order off FB and have them come to my apartment.

But of the people who post regularly on here I think there really are more people who do both. Centro and Fayboo. So sometime a person's "Medellin Report" is going to be a mix that might read something like this "in the morning I went down to centro and this happen but in the evening I went to a strip club and did not see anything I liked so I went on FB and found something".

So while there seems to be people who start narrowing thier mongering method to either Centro or Fayboo and want the thread to be more specific for them but I really think there are actually more people who do both that make the thread what it is now.

If I was going to complain about anything (you know when someone says that they are about to complain LOL) concering this thread and I am just as guilty my self about this: experienced mongers stop doing reports. They instead get caught up about the details and stop describing the big picture stuff. Osteoknot might be the exception because he keeps a running diary on here LOL. But we get so caught up over the issues that we stop actually posting a report. I am just as guilty and the result is that the newest guys who are stumbling through their experience and learning as they go are the ones making the most actual "reports".
