Fellow mongerers
Can I ask a brief question please? I am arriving in Bangkok on 15 April, staying for two nights then on to Pattaya. Are the Songkran celebrations as intense in Bangkok as in Pattaya, or is it calmer and finished on the 15th?

To throw in my two cents on the Annie's discussion:
This is actually the place where I first mongered in Thailand, with Nui, a bit older (30s), but very good at what she did so actually took her with me, for a pretty hefty bar fine, can't remember the exact amount.
I think Annie's is a bit pricey IMHO, so not planning on heading back there on my next trip in a few days, but I did have a great experience there.
Gave Nui 1000 Baht tip, she had given me her backdoor so thought that was fair.

I've never been in Pattaya for Songkran but I was here in Bangkok for all of last year's holiday.
Nana Plaza/Lower Suk is one of the big Songkran water wars locations, especially right at the entrance to the Plaza itself. It's a lot of fun. You can expect to get wet anywhere around here during the day.
However, there was a rule last year that all the water activities stopped at like 5:00 PM in Nana so they could go back to business as usual. I know I went out every night and didn't get wet at night. I think Soi Cowboy has the same policies.
That's how I remembered it was anyway, I know I didn't get wet at night when I went out to the bars and brought back girls.
As for timing, you're getting here on the last day of Songkran so you only have to deal with one day of it anyway. It's a 5-day deal this year too with the weekend attached.
In my opinion it's a real fun time to be here as it adds some fun and something different but it doesn't interfere with having fun with the girls.

I'm no expert but Songkran should be celebrated the weekend after BKK in Pattaya so it will be the 17 / 18 in Pattaya if I am not mistaken and you will be covered in water. It was even more so celebrated in Pattaya then in BKK in my limited experiences.
If memory serves me right you can celebrate it in BKK then head to Pattaya and celebrate it again. Then again I'm an old arse hole and forgetful in my old age.

Thanks Tansak, even though that is very bad news since I was hoping to avoid these celebrations as much as possible... It gets on one's nerves to get water thrown all over one when walking around. Might sit tight in Bangkok for this trip.
These pictures aren't that great as it was a challenge keeping my camera dry, but these will give you an idea of what it's like in and around Nana Plaza during the day during Songkran. As I mentioned I recall it all ended at about 5 or 6 PM daily and went back to normal for the night's activities.

Yep, it certainly gets on my nerves alright.
I make it very clear that I want no water thrown on me and the Thais understand and respect my wish. The only time last year when I almost had a problem was with a Farang. An old fart (probably in his sixties) who was running aroung trying to shoot EVERYONE with his plastic gun. When he was getting close I made it clear that I wanted none of his water and he pretended like he was going to spray me. Unfortunately, the look on my face was not the one he was expecting.
He started to lecture me on how it is Thailand, and this is a fun time, and it is custom to get wet and that I can't refuse it.
I promised him that if he would water me, his water gun would most likely end up down his throat. He mumbled and went away.
That guy was 60 adn behaving like a 5 year old boy. Pathetic.
Fucking Tourists, stick to the prostitute areas, have fun and leave the working people alone.

I do not trust I could be that convincing. I had plans to go to Pattaya for Easter and week after. I accidently noticed it is going to be Songkran same time so I cancelled my Pattaya hotel booking and bought connecting flight from Bangkok to Clark (Angeles City, PI). I have 24h in Bangkok and I am hoping to get the most out of it. Planning to visit Eden Club and as many MPs as I have juice left. Probably going to skip Annie's though.
My last Songkran, the first bucket of water thrown over me turned out to be dirty water & I got an eye infection. So I had to wear a patch for the next few days, when people saw the patch they usually left me alone.
By the look of their website, Bangkok Sisters Reopened and they offer a 15% discount for bookings in April.
Bangkok Sisters is exactly the same concept as Eden Club and same price: 3,600 thb for 2 ladies.
It seems the new manager is Miss Anny (former girl of Eden club)

I can just see the Bangkok Post headline;).
Being an expat, living in various countries for the last 30 years, my initial gut feeling was to take exception to this pompous, rude and arrogant statement but then I saw who posted it and in view of your antecedents, I guess it is probably just a sweeping, generalizing understatement (same as this is:D).
Thanks gents, sounds like BKK won't be nearly as bad as Pattaya during songkran. First day of songkran in Pattaya was a blast during my last trip, but it got annoying by the second day to be constantly wet and also get that nasty white powder/clay everywhere.
Looking forward to arriving in LOS next week. Taking my camera this time so will hopefully be able to share some good pics on my return.

Being fresh of the airplane, with only two beers in my system and horny as hell I actually managed to pop three times.
1,700 for time in room + 1,000 tip + 1,000 (or more maybe?) bar fine + 1,500 for LT made it a bit of an expensiveish night, but was a really nice time.

Nic, have you been there? I tried to search for some info but didn't find anything.
I'm not a real fan of Eden and would like to try something new. I was even thinking of swinging thru Patpong tonight to do something new.
I wonder if the Bangkok Sisters girls are OK looking and if the performance level is good. With the discount it's 3060THB, not a bad deal I suppose if the girls are good.
The past 2 nights I've been with two beautiful young Nana girls but it's getting boring so I feel like something new. I know it's ridiculous, and old guy like me bored with having sex with gorgeous, sexy young girls willing to do almost anything. But I need something new, just not sure what.
