G.[/QUOTE]Yes, I would certainly agree with RK and G about the desirability of the somewhat neglected, yearning 30 year olds. Not long ago I met a 31 year old DIA gal who, though quite shy and reserved during our meal in Greenbelt, agreed to come back to my place after dinner 'for a coffee'. Once back at my place it didn't take too much persuasion to coax her onto my bed. And it only took the first kiss to turn her into a fevered, writhing, groping, moaning, craving vixen. Turns out she not only hadn't had any sex for over a year, she had never had sex, as she put it, 'all naked'. It was like the simple act of me tenderly removing all her clothes, piece by piece, opened the carnal floodgates.
For me, the only problem with the 30 year olds is that I am very attracted to the slender spinner types, and due to the god-awful typical Filipino diet of white rice, fried fatty foods and processed meats, the gals tend to steadily put on weight. So by the time they are in their 30s, they tend to be a bit chunkier than I would like. Oh well, life is full of trade-offs, I suppose.
I'm just winding up another ten day trip to Thailand, and as always, I'm struck by the differences between this country and the Philippines where I live. Besides the obvious Buddhist / Christian ethos, it seems to me that one of the major differences is the degree to which Thais love their country and their extreme reluctance to emigrate. In comparison, it sometimes appears to me that the entire population of the Philippines would get the hell out if it could. The sentiment that undergirds this desire is, it seems to me, one of hope, which is abundant in Thailand and in scarce supply in the Philippines. Thais-at least the Thais whom I know-seem to believe that things are getting better and that they'll continue to get better in the future, whereas the converse is generally true in the Philippines.
Even in this, the low season, the throngs of farang tourists are pumping millions of dollars a day into this country, and it's a bit sad to think of how badly the Philippines has botched its chance to attract a larger share of this market. I'm not speak here of "sex tourists," but of those genuinely interested in seeing the sites, in exposure to the culture and with a strong interest in the country.
I am again struck by the fact that the Thai government, for all of its recent problems, doesn't just talk problems to death but acts on them: witness the gorgeous connecting roads between cities, the newish subway, the sky train, the elevated highways circumscribing the city and the current serious attempts to reduce the pollution of the Chao Phrya river. Here, the construction of major infrastructure that will have an immediate, positive impact on the economy actually happens, and to reasonably high standards. In the Philippines, such actions get talked about for decades and rarely get acted upon. What a pity.

I am also currently out of the Philippines in nearby Laos and I am amazed at how rapidly this country is moving forward too.
It started from a very low base but in my 3 trips here in 4 years I can witness huge developments that show change can occur if there is a will (and millions of dollars of foreign cash too of course).
The Philippines has also received squillions of foreign aid money but it is more difficult to see any dramatic infrastructure changes apart from things like the MRT (too small and overcrowded) and a new airport that is only partially used.
I can also merely say "What a pity".

Been reading a variety of post. Mixed toss green salad.
A few observations from my experiences: first education level of your DNA girls. I like to start off a short conversation. The Thai woman in BK asked the aussie why do foreigners he date the dark skin girls from the countryside. Her meaning they are lower class. His answer was,"they are the only ones who will date us" I think this is basically the situation.
Most university educated attractive young woman for middle and upper class families will have nothing to do with us foreign visitors. Remember I said most. Not all.
Personal example. I met a 22 year old la salle university graduate. Whoe now has her masters degree and is a finance broker for a german bank in makati.
We lasted 6 weeks. On breaking up I was surprised she "confessed" she took me for granted. She said being young and educated and me being old. True. That I was lucky to have her and I should spoil her.
At my age of 68 and still presentable. The girls I meet are working meager jobs or no job. I know the senior guys here now that once a woman reaches 26. She will have a hard time finding a job. And because of the economy. Most woman get just 4 to 6 month contract jobs in factories / economic zones and in malls.
Many woman. Actually young girls. Cannot stay in school because of expenses. We also know that quality of schools vary from place to place.
One last big point. I believe most of the girls we are meeting are as much as 20 years younger than a lot of us. Remember your thinking and interest when you were 23? Compared to you now at 40 or 40 or 60?
So please, lets keep it all in perspective. These ladies struggle just to put food on the table. We are so lucky to have the experiences. They don't have time to learn to swim, or learn horse back riding, or play golf / tennis. They not have time and money to travel and study like we do. Most don't get paid vacations as us.
Second, one fellow was asking about his viagra or any meds. Checking it or not in a bag for travel. As far as I know. As long as it is in a prescription. No problema. As for me I carrying always in my carryon and in my many visits to Philippines between 2005-2011. No questions. When I travel I keep my electronics and very personal items in my carry on just incase of lost luggage. Easy to buy replacement clothes.
Cebu pacific gives discount and faster check in if you only have a carry on. I have a favorite hotel in malate and they let me store my extra things free of charge when I go off to the vasayans.
Third, yep. Agreed woman reaching in their 30 are at thier sexual peak. They are hungry for affection with a sincere guy. But I have found the 30 to 38 year old group a tough nut to crack. They are not so easily seduced as the 20 somethings. This age group has been played one or more times.
I agree with GE about Thailand and Philippines in that Thais have a harder time fitting into aussie or german culture. I talked to two aussies in Thailand who were married to Thai ladies and they said more than 50% of the marriage with Thai ladies end in divorce. No difference from most places.

Had one too many experience. Like the time we arranged to ship out a RHIB, from 4, 000 $ the cost ballooned to 12, 000 and still going, as the counterparts included "Fiesta","Award Ceremony","Banners for the VIPs", and payment to some family of Ayala or Lopez or Sy or Tan or Gokongwei, for their 'assistance'.
We quietly canned the project. Though we got a lot of threats for destroying the lives of poor pinoys.
Well, that's just a hint of what is collossally wrong.
And the rich are even mentally retarded, and want to get more rich, and everything from trikes, to jeepneys to even selling peanuts is controlled by "Families"
And forget the senators and congressmen. They are all family or so. Father / mother / son / daughter. Then the former becomes mayor, governer, or whatever to keep them in power.
That, in my eyes, is what is eating their own people. Add that with their blind respect for 'power' and 'ceremonial' stuff.
I remembered one of my JC members, who was practically worshipping a JC senator here. Until I whacked him and told him that JC senator is like us, and doesn't need to be specially treated like royalty. And reminded him that even locals here were uncomfortable or taking advantage of the blind faith in 'rank'
Boy, the Filipino guy was pissed and questioned my upbringing. Insisting that Senators must be treated God Like. And the fellow was a Professor here. If an educated clown can think so. What could you expect from lesser educated?
The whole problem with the Philippines is that whatever government there is they are not the ones that call the shots.

In Laos, Chinese building airports, financing and manageing projects, everything under the sun. This could happen in the Philippines too, if the Americans would disappear.

The Japanese and Koreans too. Recently alot of the Japanese and Korean projects have been shelved due to increased financing rates.
No word if the recent China-Philippines Spratly Islands territorial water dispute and the Valemax bulk iron ore carrier ban will have an impact on current and proposed Chinese infrastructure projects in the Philippines.

I've just returned from a semi-annual ten day trip to Thailand. I go largely because I have some good friends there, because I enjoy Thai culture and because I love the food. I found, at the conclusion of this most recent trip (as was also the case with my last trip) , that I was more than ready to come "home" to the Philippines, and was (again) surprised at my reaction. Part of my desire to get back doubtless stemmed from missing my lady, but that doesn't account for the entirety of my anxiousness to get back here.
I have tried to analyze why this should be true. I find the Thai culture infinitely more interesting than the culture here, and the food is-in my opinion-infinitely better. The transportation infrastructure of Bangkok and its environs beats this country by several orders of magnitude, and the discrepancies will increase in this area over time. The only rationale for my reaction that makes sense to me comes down to the character of the people. Thais are unflaggingly polite, service oriented and generally charming, but I believe these traits constitute a type of professional veneer; that is to say it's not entirely genuine. Conversely, Filipinos-again at least the sample I know-are, I believe, more genuine in their interactions with foreigners; or maybe they're just better actors.
Whatever the case, I'm somewhat amazed at my tendency to miss this place after an absence of almost two weeks. I'm still figuratively scratching my head in wonder.

Given a chance, I can quote a few incidents, where 'relatives of x, why or z' who, while were rich on their own, tried to scam a foreign investor or partner out of the lawful share so on top of the 100 million $ they have, they can have another 10, 000 $. That's what I can't figure out.
Even within the families, they are loathe to sharing their business and let their lesser prosperous relatives prosper- preferring to hand-out cash to relatives when needed.
One more trait I can't stick is, for rich, the 90% or more of Filipinos instantly say "they are lucky". Yes, fortunate, but didn't hard work get atleast some people to where they are today? Yes, a majority got their by being lucky. Being born into a rich family. Then I figured it out. That almost all the rich are there because of their LUCK. Rarely due to hard work. I could even go on to say even the 1st Gen rich got their by crony deals. Or Marcos' money.
It is amsuing even when you talk to even educated folks.
Them: What's your job?
Me: I am a Telecom Engineer.
Them: oh, you are so lucky to be an Engineer.
Me: errr. What did Luck do with it? Didn't my studies and constant efforts got me to where I am today?
Then I figured it out that most Filipinos have the easy way. Relatives funding their studies, or some rich man funding their studies
It is their common interest to give the fish than teach people to fish.
It is not the spanish. Their genetic codes have been progammed to be so. Rarely have I seen such hard working but hero worshipping people in my life. Even they are so gracious to give up their hard work if somebody else benefits. Starting with their 'remittances'
