I am planning a trip to Barcelona in a few weeks. I have been many times with work or friends but this time I plan to travel on my own and enjoy the city over a week.

I like quality accommodation and Barcelona is always pretty disappointing. The hotels are either away from everything or tiny and generic. Apartments were also very interesting at one time but of late have become Ikea facsimiles of each other. My huge issue with the apartments is the beds, they all now seem to have single beds, I know this adds flexibility to them renting but they are just not comfortable.

I have a few SB contacts I plan to meet and spend time with. These will be some longer term dates so we will be hanging out in the accommodation. Do any of you have recommendations of nice apartments (2 Bed) or hotels with nice suites. I am pretty flexible on price, interested to hear some recommendations for those with better knowledge than I.
