It's a shame.[/QUOTE]Sad, when I first arrived in 2003 Tiga Puluh was certainly one of the top three spots, but there's no doubt is was already on the way out even then, the atmosphere and the bands, oy veh the bands, just weren't quite of the standard of CJ's and BATS.

It's funny how some hotels seem to get the right formula and others can never crack it. Marriott and Ritz Carlton had nice clubs but no atmosphere, the Hyatt's club, the one with the loud techno music never worked for me but was popular with others. Tiga Puluh had it and lost it yet BATS and CJ's (although the latter is simply outside my price range at this stage) have maintained their standards for almost a decade.

The bars and clubs all shut the evening before Idul Adha and remain shut until the day after. Even getting a taxi after 6pm on Saturday night will be tricky, I hate this particular festival it always creeps up unannounced and wrecks your plans, it has done to me for the past three years in a row. If all else fails try Bali.

Cheer up though, all is not lost: start trawling around the dating websites and you should still be able to find some girls. There are also Christian and Hindu girls as well as the odd Muslim girl who will be available during this period. Thanks for the heads up MD II and Dorman but can't cancel since I'll have to be there on the 8th and the tix have all been booked by the company already. Well all is not lost and as you said, the dating sites might help (Which I've already trawled almost a week before with some leads). Just that all the touristy stuff I wanted to do like the markets are going to be off. Is Monday going to be a washout as well? However, all signs pointing to a no go on a Saturday night. It's my first time there, bit of a let down, but it gives me a chance to do a little recon around the city. Band not too bad, but had low quality sound system, which made the high sound level hard to stand. Female singer needed text with lyrics for every song. The bar had the offer "Buy one draught beer - Get one free" which sounded good, but it turned out that one [u]small[/u] Bintang cost 69K! And instead of starting to picking up round midnight the place became more an more desterted.

So an updated list including bad and good weekdays and starting times would be appreciated!

My trip to Jakarta lasted two days.

Day 1.

Cost 250, 000. Chose a super hot chick and she gave me a lap dance. They are fully nude and let you touch everywhere. My partner from downstairs and I were chatting away and drinking some more. She had to leave so I tipped her $40 USD for her time.

Another girl came over and I got her a drink, She wanted to go upstairs but I declined. Buzz was starting to get stronger so off to the next place.

Total came out to 700, 000rup. Not bad for all the drinks I was buying.

Fourth stop was Malibo club (Next to Malioboro). Very nice establishment. Two floors, has the look of a high end strip joint. 2nd floor over looks the first. Had all types of girls sitting around. I saw this one girl dancing. She had a huge ass and big tits. Asked the manager if I could take her upstairs and they said that dancers can not go. Shit. Try to ask another manager, they said the same thing. Saw her coming of the stage and I said Hi, Asked if she could go upstairs and she smiled and said no. Maliblo club would be fun with a group of guys. Reminds me of the strip clubs in Vegas. Off to the next place.

Fifth stop was Alexix club. Suppose to be the nicest place in Jakarta. Got there at around 12:00. 1st floor is a regular club. I went straight to the third? The sauna was closing up and there were not many girls. They brought a line up. Wanted 1, 750, 000rup. Too pricy and quality of girl was no different than what I have been seeing.

Sixth stop was Top Gun, No offense, I bet this place is a lot of fun but it was a dive bar. I love dive bars but not hook up with girls. Had a vodka red bull, talk to a girl with nice cleavage but they all looked worn out compared to the girls I saw earlier. Decided to leave.

Seventh stop was Bats and the Shangrila. Was getting nervous that It was getting to late and I missed my chances. Went into Bats and while I was walking in a cute, thick girl was walking out. Asked her to come back in and have a drink. Place was closing around 2:00. We decided to go back to my pad. Didn't talk about money. All in all, Jakarta is a fun place to monger. It caters to all types of people. You don't have to be rich to enjoy the lifestyle of a King here. Things that I were suprised is that the girls were hotter than I expected. Big eyes and nice asses. Reminded me of Philipina / Chinese girls. For people going here just remember the traffic is almost unbearable from 2pm-8pm. One thing I didn't get was a soapy body massage like I get when I go to Thailand or Maccau.
