In order to avoid this scenario, I just agree on everything before we even meet. Some guys feel like they can negotiate better in person and if you have that skillset, more power to you. But most women don't like expectations just being dropped on them. Even if you get her to agree for less than what she asked for, her resentment will show in her lackluster performance.
