That brought the police in, caused some inspections and some big headaches for the hotel. So maybe a crackdown is part of the process. But it sucked. The bar downstairs was slightly less impacted but there were significantly less people. I'll also mention that most of the rooms at M1 were completely vacant last week. So take that for what it's worth. Still great for a first timer to Colombia who is alone and speaks no Spanish.

I think you were extremely lucky. It seems like you learned from the experience. I hope others do as well. The lesson I learned some time ago is it works out better for me if I do what I need to do during waking hours and rest overnight to fight another day.

Re: scopamine- after everything closed in El Poblado I was chatting with a group of 3 chicas. They said there was a place still open, and took me to a party bus wagon that drives you to Seven Club. A young Colombian guy kinda merged in our group and we were all drinking together. After arriving to the club, things got incredibly blurry for about an hour, and then I looked at the Colombian guy and he was passed out and throwing up, whereas the girls were fine. So that's when I suspected something bad happened, and I was able to pull myself together sufficiently to call an Uber and get out of there (dropped off the passed out Colombiano in El Poblado too). Felt pretty crappy for the next 2 days, but feel like I managed to dodge something much worse. Google Reviews of the place report similar experiences. Maybe it was something else or a low dosage because I snapped out of it eventually. I guess just a warning for anyone that gets on that party bus after the bars close in El Poblado, be very careful with what you drink / ingest.

At first, I was under the impression that Immigration was not checking the MIG form or covid status but that is actually not the case. What is actually happening is that they are inputting your passport number and pulling up the MIG form which is on the computer and checking the information. I peeked at the monitor and I could see of the info.

The only wing-men I normally travel with are dudes I've met while on trips and we'd end up making plans to meet on same spot or even here on this board. So this won't happen again.

But he did delete some of those pics from his phone. There are tons of stories where guys got in trouble in US airports due to phone contents that are deemed illegal. In fact, just so some of yall know there are undercover cops working on Seeking w fake women profiles incl local Colombian police. Not going to get into details how I know, so I always advise to never, never negotiate sex in exchange for money or specific ppm arrangement while on US soil on whatsapp / messenger; secondly, if she looks too young she may later reveal being underage and of course it is a set up. Those are things I also had to educate heavily on since buddy was going hard after the 16-17 year old looking ones.

Even in Llera there are 17 year old girls working there, and likely some of them maybe w law enforcement. Yes I ask them for ages and they do say 17. FYI legal consent age in Colombia is 14, and many get in trouble for it bc they assume it's the same for working girls LOL. Consent age for working girl is 18, so if you're paying she better be 18. It is something some of the bar owners are working on to get them banned from the park.

I've been in the game for a while, and not only I can sniff out those potential troubles, I also don't seek them. But man it is a lot of heavy work to try an educate someone who has no common sense or self control.

But it was very disappointing.[/QUOTE]I was there when the inspection happened, it took the whole day and no girls were allowed that day till late in the day, luckily it was my penultimate day but my chica told me no girls are allowed in without a date for the next 15 days.

I found the cost to be quite high, specially in laureless area. The German pharmacy on cr 70 was the most expensive asking 13 K for one 100 MG tablet! Ouch. Others quoted 12 K for one.

Centro was better, most places did not have 100 MG but a few that had offered it 2 for 12. The best price was around 46 and 52 which offered 2 100 mgs tablets for 8 K, still double the rate I could get it for in India or Thailand.

Does anyone know any cheap place to buy it from in centro or laureles? And what brand is the best?

I know roach motels are cheap so wondering if they are air conditioned? Are there any quickie hotels in that area that have AC?

I am going back to Medellin this week. I just bought a new phone in US, slipped in my claro SIM, transferred all my data including whatsapp. I am unable to get the verification code for whatsapp here in US for the claro number. My regular recharged 10 mil pesos yesterday but that looks like it was data only recharge and no SMS. Is there an amount of recharge that can give messages and calls so I can get whatsapp verified here while on roaming. I think claro connects via Verizon here.

So EVEN IF no money exchanges hands you can still be prosecuted if the girl is under 18.

There's a large influx of mid thirties early 40's guys who don't speak a lick of Spanish, backwards hats, full tatted sleeves, gold plated watch, etc. And are the opposite of discreet when it comes to mongering.

They get drunk and can't keep it together, expect to get laid just because of their passport, talk to the waiters in English as if they understand, I've seen it too many times.

IMO this is also the stereotype that working girls, taxi drivers, and locals have of gringos, much to my dismay.

Even though paisas are extremely kind, I'd say they resent the aforementioned weekend warrior types, treating the city like an amusement park.
