It's nice to be with someone that you enjoy being with and won't harm you physically. I'm sure there are no shortage of submissive Filipinas.

No physical problems but she had low self esteem. i.e. I know I'm poor. I know not good enough for you. This was her own perception I don't care how much / little money a girl has. I try to look more for her sincerity and heart.

That said. Another one I lived with is just as you describe. Nothing was good enough. No matter what I did."I could have done more!" She was controlled by her Mother's and other GF's opinions. You're not going to be #1 in the relationship. And I know this. Legal blackmail started to become involved several times regarding money and even sex. I knew it was time to end when things became physical. From her end. I knew I couldn't defend myself physically as you really cannot hit a woman. As Frenzy said. You have to give them respect. They are poor. Yes, I supported family but there are a few bad ones out there and sometimes it's just not enough. I have to say she had a better life than 80 percent of her friends with Western Boyfriends. We traveled, ate well and lived well. But if she had a friend who did better than her. I. E. rented property bought by the caucasian or a nicer car. She wanted to know why her life was so bad?

It is called making up sex after a fight is the best now that all the frustrations in relationship is washed away for the moment.

I have had girlfriends slap me and fight with me for silly reasons. I believe it means they really love me.

Generally it is rare in Asia mainly because we are with them shorter time only. The steam does not build up to boiling point. Most of the fights with asian women is caused by texts from other girls or caught in a lie of where I have been and did what. Lovewise asian women think that if they really love, they expect the guy to behave in certain way only.

Point is it is not exclusive to asian women.

At least you are now becoming aware that your role is to serve as nourishment for her and her offspring. Maybe saying that they are all like that might be a bit too absolute and final. Perhaps saying that most are like that, certainly the ones willing to entertain a foreigner, would be a more reasonable point of view. Yet, in spite of her beating on you and being an ingrate, you remain in the relationship. Certainly, it can't be that one sided and you must be getting something out of it besides the beatings and henpecking. I know we all like to stereotype Filipina behaviour but IMHO Filipinas are like women any where else in the world. They all have different personalities and temperments, different thresholds of sensitivity and a range of behavioural traits from one end of the spectrum to the other.

The one thing I will say about them (generalizing of course) is that the vast majority I have met are hard working and conscientious about their work. They are often accused of lacking initiative and the ability to think for themselves, but I would personally not call them lazy at least the ones that I know.

What you have described is just as applicable to a Western woman as it is an Asian woman.

Now that is one of the more interesting analogies I've heard in a long time.

Anyways, as others have commented you should be able to unlock it if it is really locked and not some ploy by the T Mobile tech to get out of work.

Yes your right I have gotten a lot of responses here about places I can take the phone to when I land in Cebu the end of this month so thanks to all that responded to my question. Only 3 weeks to go and I will be back in the land of the payat filipinas. No more big assed western woman to look at for a month, YEEEHEEE

I am surprised you assumed that they would.

It is the same for Globe or Smart phones purchased via their plans etc.

If you wish to unlock it you need to go to an independent technician. They are everywhere these days. Just look for "Jailbreak" in the plethora of signage in front of most shops or kiosks.

And remember; a competent techie can unlock it in a few minutes. Never fall for the trap when they say "We will have it done in 30 minutes Sir, you can go off shopping or have a cup of coffee and come back in 30 minutes".

Stay with them and watch your phone, or you will end up with parts of it replaced or even a phone switched.

If they cannot unlock it while you wait, take it somewhere else.
