I do not disagree with anything you've said here. I only like to point out that shit will happen regardless.

We (had) a friend in our group once who you could call one of the "Rico Suave" types. In his arsenal was good looks, and spoke very good English that he tied in well with his Argentinian accent. His problem? Well, homie had a habit of banging other dudes girlfriends/wives. And it wasn't that he was intentionally out there looking for affairs; the women almost always initiated the tryst.

One thing you have to be sure of is making sure you and the chica are friends and can you relate to each other. I think if the age gap is like over mmmmm 15 yrs, then maybe it may not work.
