We might be talking about different types of party supplies. I was referring to perico, cripa is skunk. Such is the wonderful world of Colombia, perico is easier to get than cripa.
If you're friendly with a girl there, she'll be a better option than a random taxi driver. Either way, I've never had much of a problem either with supply or quality.
In general this is good advice and word of caution for anyone looking for party supplies from taxi drivers. Helps if you can tell good stuff from bad stuff, especially if it is not pre packaged. I have personally sourced it many times in MDE and never had any issues. In CTG, I had the girls get my supplies and there were never any issues either. Moderation is also key.
PM me on where to get excellent supplies reliably and safely in MDE (I know this is the wrong thread but posters and readers are the same)
Yep, $75 will get you a decent apartment in Laguito from Juan or Mery.
Wow! So that's just over $300 a day after ticket and lodging. Is that like baller status there or what? My recent trip to Sosua cost me $2000 total for 9 days including airfare, lodging, and about $100 per day play money. Even at only $100 a day, I was still holding back on some days and splurging on others. Buying art, beach trinkets-shit like that.
How long are you in CTG for at that budget? From my earlier research a decent condo can be rented at about $75 a night. Is that still true?

I was in the new location about 2 months ago. The way I used to remember it was an upscale 'girl-bar-club' clean, nice, and upscale women with some non-hunting tourists mingling in and nice hard loud club music.
I'm sorry to say that the new location is nothing like the old, so bad I didn't even stay for one beer ($10). Looked like a very small bar with a dozen or so tables around the walls and a pole in the middle with one girl dancing, the rest of the girls were 'working' the tables. Also looked like mostly colombian tourists in the place, I asked the door guy what kind of music they were playing and he said crossover / mix, it sucked. Sorry for the negative report, but thats how I saw it.
Hey SailingWhorist,
Thanks a lot for letting me know. Once I heard they took over Bananas I had a feeling it wouldn't be as good as I once walked into Bananas and it was just as you described it now, which is unfortunate.
Your assessment of the previous Isis location was spot on and why I loved it so much. Had great upscale women in a nice, clean bar. Still, I'll walk in and give it a whirl in hopes that there is a least one hottie worth spending a night with!
Thanks again.

Visiting 1st time
So I'll be visiting the historical city of Cartagena around May. This will also be my first time visiting Colombia. I've been to a few countries, such as the DR and Ecuador. And its interesting how different the women behave when comparing the two places. The working girls of Ecuador seemed more mechanical, showing very little or no affection. Which disappointingly makes sense since a woman working at a chongo must deal with a lot of shit which can harden them up a bit. Which is why I avoided las prepagos, and focused my attention on the solteras which I've done rather well for myself in that department. Now the DR is almost the complete opposite. The women there are friendlier, prettier, and sexier. I could go on and on but that's for the DR forum.
Now I'm asking you guys, how you would characterize the women in Cartagena, is it more like Ecuador, or the DR? Or is it in between the two or is it just in a whole other league. For someone such as myself, who is hispanic, fluent in spanish, and fairly young still will I do well for myself down there? Is it a safe place to visit on my own? I'm the type of person that likes to wonder off the beaten path and makes an effort to hangout at the local spots. Does Cartagena have any spots that our geared solely for locals, or is it all focused on tourists? I also wanted to point out that it seems like looking for a girl in Cartagena, they come with a premium. How much more is that, as appose to Medellin. Just wondering in case I want to kick myself in the ass for booking my trip to Cartagena instead of Medellin. Also, what's a good daily budget for an individual that is there looking for fun? Are there any Casas de Citas and if there are what's the average rate at these places? How are the strip clubs down there, are they worth the visit? And most importantly, is it worth visiting Baranquilla or Santa Marta? I sure hope this post is enough to spur some sort of a discussion where I could gain some more insight to better prepare myself towards my future travel.

Thanks for the info.
Thanks for the answers on my cost inquiry. CTG is only about $100 more for airfare than POP airport in the DR [from where I am flying out of right now. ] It seems hotel / condo rental will be a little bit more as well, but at least double / triple the cost in the daily expenses compared to Sosua, DR. I did have a blast in Sosua and thought there were more than enough beautiful women around on any given day. Plus, one thing I think the DR may have over CTG [correct me if I'm wrong, ] are the beaches. I thought Playa Sosua was very close to some of the beaches in Hawaii, my old home state. Also, I hear that CTG requires you to speak more Spanish than Sosua. If all this is true I may have to wait until I can speak enough Spanish to hold a decent conversation with a chica and maybe even a promotion at work to help pay for it LOL.
Bottom line-how worth it is it to visit CTG over the DR? Beaches are paramount to me and it seems DR has a lot more options as far as coastal towns to visit besides Sosua. Crime and corruption fall in place as well and I've read much in the DR forums on this subject. I haven't followed the Columbia forums in over a year but know that what happens in Colombia stays in Colombia-like your ass if you get caught breaking a law.
CTG [along with Thailand and Philippines, ] are on my to-do list before I die or get married, whichever comes first. But I want to do it right and may just have to use the DR and Sosua as a stepping stone for my Spanish, latin dancing, and mongering skills for the time being.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
I agree. It can be easily 400k if you avoid wasting money with drinks on the beach or buying bottles at the club, but not less unless you really miss the fun.
Let me be more specific on how this total sums up. I consider:
- 90k for a good dinner in El Centro (my best choice: Santisimo) ;
- 200k for the girl (TDL with average negotiation skills)
- 50k+ for drinks at night (spending money for alcoolic drinks at the beach is a nonsense for me)
- 50k+ for various other expenses daytime, incl. lunch, taxis, etc.
Shiit! CTG is expensive!
(and I spent 100k-150k for a young girl + mamasan at my favourite casa at daytime too!)

Hey, Solo welcome to the board, to answer your questions accurately, I will tell you that if your Spanish is good you'll do pretty good with the chicas in Colombia, of course Colombian women are very warm and affectionate, if your skills as a player are damn good you won't need to be dealing with putas or paying for sex, just get a good tour guide to show you around and take you to where the Gems are "non-pros" I have noticed many of us here don't either know about where to find them or mention about them

Damn, I'd hate to see how much a good day in Rio would cost. Say I was willing to forget the beaches for a vacation and do Medellin instead. How much cheaper-if at all-would it be going there instead of CTG? The main reason for Colombia is to try out the Colombian women, not the sand.

Guide / concierge
Hey guys,
I'm new to the group. A group of my friends is headed to Cartagena for my friends bachelor party in may. It will be everyone's first time except for me. I was wondering if any of you guys new a reliable guide / concierge to kind of lead us around to where all the good looking ladies / parties are and at the same time make sure we are not getting ripped off. If this guide were good we would use him for the next bachelor party we are having at the end of the year there.

I have visited both places. Cartagena many times like the hot weather and beaches though the beach in Cartagena is that great/
Cartagena has gotten expensive was just there in Feb. Food is expensive at least in the tourist area. Even the condos have gone up in price.
But you can find cheap airfare there.
My spanish is very limited and I am average looking but have blue eyes and that helps. I picked up a girl asked her to lunch the next day. She ended up going home with me that
Night left about midnight I gave her 150, 000 pesos more than I normally would because she was wild in bed. Pretty she she was a working girl, but she proceded to stay.
The next 5 nights with me and did not ask for money. So it is pn the possible to find local chicas.
But also watch out for the chicas on the beach agreeing tor 100, 000 pesos and then saying the price was 100 us dollars. This happened to me and if I did not know for.
Sure that we agreed on pesos I would have payed her the extra money. But when we nogotiated the price I talked with one of her friends that spoke english and was sure of the
Price,
Now I was in Medellin just once and was with a girl for most of the time, but had a few days to my self. I found the strip club I went was more expensive than Cartagena.
And the girls where not as good.
But I found the waiter-bouncer at this reggae bar in the parque Arearas not sure if I am spelling that correct. But he spoke english and could hook you up with some very hot young.
Chicas for 200, 000 pesos.
Another place you might want to consider is Cali. Chicas are very good looking and food is much cheaper and from reading the posts girls are much cheaper.
I also know a guy that lives there that would be very happy to show you the places to go. He does not speak english.
I meet him on my last visit to Cali in may. I was dating a girl from there that time.
One other thing I noticed that a good place to pickup young hot chicas is the main street that goes from the hilton to Hollywood beach.
There are condos there and a few chicas walk up the street and may approach you or you can talk with one of the guys standing there.
I saw a few 9 and 10; s there for around 150,000 pesos
