Take the example of a cocktail, even at a normal bar it's like 350-450 baht plus 10%= USD14-16 and the more trendy ones would be 550-700 baht.

What's ironic is that at these bars an entire meal is only 250-350.

Dining out is also really expensive. I do sometimes like to try the omakase, I had one at the Nikko hotel which was kushikatsu and 5,000 baht. About 6 months I was at Shibuya sky in Tokyo and I realized the exact meal in a nice mall, also omakase was only USD50. So you're talking the Bangkok meal was triple the cost of the one in Tokyo itself and also at a v nice restaurant. Ridiculous.

I usually take EVA. ONCE, I spent a night in Taiwan (travelling on Northwest in economy). More trouble than it's worth.
