I am heading to Mae Sot area (far west about 400 Km north of BBK) in late September and am desperate to find any current info on the area. I know a little about the area and will be there for about 4 days to do a photo shoot for a local client and realy want something to do at night better than editting the days work.

Man it was hard to get fligths from BBK to Mae Sot booked from Oz, every time I found a posability it failed. Finally was able to book Phuket Air via Thai they only changed the system a few days ago.

The web id full of travel and NGO crap about the area and no relivant info on massage or brothels that I know must be there, after all its a boarder town full of Burmise factory girls looking for that little extra.

Alexander - as in many places it "chewey ta khun pood Thai dai nit noi" helps if you can speak some Thai. Most "coldness" towards farang is a result of LANGUAGE, not UNFRIENDLYNESS.

A couple of nights in Ubon can be quite bearable...

The tuk-tuk driver promised poozzy for 3-400 B/hr, young beautiful poontang, he said. Had to give it a go. He also said it was a long way, slapping his gas tank so the taxi fare would be 60B one way/120B return.

Don't believe a word they say.

We were there in less than 2 minutes.

Of course, another so called "Karaoke" joint. Not much singing went on though. The cunts sitting outside (about a dozen of them) in front of the building, polishing their nails, playing with their handphones, all the usual and very useful female activities. Many looked quite allright. Not supermodels but reasonably cute and doable looking at least 3 or 4 of them.

A young boy around 20 seemed to be the boss in charge. The two of us moved behind a darkened glass panel. We could see the meat sitting outside but they couldn't see us.

He started to explain that the cost of ST was B500 for all the cunts. I didn't hesitate to remind him that the driver promised B3-400. Then suddenly the prices came down to B400 for all but the two cutest that stayed 500.

I asked about the B300 ones that the driver promised then he hesitantly pointed out a couple of older ones (about 25-28?)that could be had for 300.

I inquired if there were any without kids (and the signs of having them, etc). He honestly admitted that all were mamas but pointed to one B400 girl that didn't have stretchmarks.

Plus there was one girl for B500, without kids but she was, hm..... still "chronologically challenged" by one year (if you know what I mean). Thai men don't give a fuck they root it just as good but I suspected a possible trap for a farang so declined.

Then just to be sure, I asked about how long the clock runs for this price and he said 30 minutes. As the driver before promised one hour it was just to much fucking up and BS. 30 minutes is more than enough for a fuck but there was just too much mucking around so I thanked him, called my driver and left.

However, for 120 baht taxi fare (the price of a dink in a gogo bar) I still had a good time being there. It was an interesting and educational experience.We were trading in all these cunts as if they were some merchandise, product, cattle, sheep, some bags of offal or packs of chewing gum.

At no point in the negotiation were they personally involved. He was offering them for sale like bags of shit and I was there to buy them by the kilo. It was great! Could we do this in Helsinki, Paris, London please?

It was most amazingly contrasting with the presently so popularised image of independent, liberated western women. None of those present at that joint. If you want an egotrip check out this place. You can have an instanteous orgasm just by being there.

The driver looked obviously disappointed though, loosing his commission on the fuck.

Then he became inventive and promised:

a/ to go another place like this for same price
b/ go to a massage-boomboom place for B1000/2hrs
c/ go to a go-go bar (for $$$????)

Option c/ seemed interesting enough (gogo in Ubon??) but eventually I got it out of him that all other customers will most likely be Thai men. I doubted the place would be too welcoming to farang.

Plus with all these options the fare started running into the hundreds of bahts so I just pulled the plug. Go home and sleep. It took a while to convince him but he gave up eventually offering more meat and he dropped off the cargo back at the hotel.

Nevertheless, all these options might be worth more investigation on another trip.

Ubon is a quite nice town, there are lots of hotels and restaurants and it is reasonable idea to spend a couple of nights there.

Local minibus fares are still just 7B for any distance. From either the train or bus station 'line 2' will take you to town centre. A tuk-tuk would cost lots more.

Mae Sai -Burmese border

I couldn't find the Burmese joints. "Next to the Burmese checkpoint on the right hand side". Did that mean the "burmese side"? Because on the Thai side there is only Thai checkpoint. And I was too shy to ask the taxis.

Anyway, watching the border traffic from the "Viewpoint" was fun enough. Those burmese definitely look malnutritioned, sickly, black and they are persistent beggars. Amazingly, living only a few metres away and yet so many shades darker than the Thais.

At 6 o'clock when the border closes you can observe all the black burmese in rags going back home and the white, well dressed thais returning from Burma. I thought that if the hookers are like those average burmese then I wouldn't really want to do them anyway, not even for 300B, or even free.

Looking down from that viewpoint it makes you wonder who owns those 40 million slaves up north. If they just make 1cent ($0.01) profit on each one per day (which they possibly would) then it still adds up to a tidy sum at the end of the year. Because there must be markets where whole countries are traded like oranges and apples just we don't hear about those ('coz we are not meant to). The owners of the Thais do even better. This country is a money-making machine.

To skank in Mae Sai:
Walking from a southerly direction (eg from Chiangrai ) along the main drag/street of Mae Sai , Phaholyothin Road , (No.1 on the attached map) , towards bridge and Burmese border, you enter the laneway before the 'river' road. This same laneway houses Wang Thong Hotel (No.2 on the attached map). It is on the same side but before the cement 'Myanmar Border' sign. You have gone too far , if you are at that spot. So back to the laneway. Continue on down this laneway/soi until you come to a T intersection , that is you can not go any further , and turn left until you come to another T intersection , turn right and there should be a place (No.5) on your left , further up at the crossroads (see Map) you'll find No's 6 , 7 and 8 on the attached map. There is an enchaged Buddhist Shrine in this area.

The skanks are there 24/7 ish. If you like cute little piglets, then they are for you. The guess house places are Lonely Planet type shit holes, some for 100 baht a piece but the local jail might be more upmarket. If you go back there, just walk around slowly and you will find the skanks.

As regards Ubon, there are, as Skinless reported, some mid level brothels around the main hotel where the Khmer Rouge leaders used to hang out, including a fishbowl in it. The testicle massage is also available there. Skinless reckons the best place for a cheap night time fuck might be around the relatively deserted (at night) railway station. When he passed through very early in the morning, he noticed furtive activity and extrapolating from Buriram and Si Saket.......

Anyway, a belated welcome to the elite Starship Enterprise section of Thai mongering.

Just came back from short trip to Betong and it seems that this little town hasnt much to offer except for WL. There are two discos which blasts their music so loud that, you think you'll go deaf after half hour.

Overall the place is quiet during the day and during weekdays. It becomes a little busier during weekends especially during the nite.

O so true! That songthaew is the best public transport invention in the Kingdom. No other town has anything like it.

I also found out that some chicks from the mainland come over on the weekends to make some extra cash. When I was there on a Friday night this lady from Bangkok (a receptionist at a major hotel) showed up.
