No, you don't see it every trip. If DEA was constantly busting Amtrak passengers for drugs, then the traffickers would find other means to transport their drugs.
El Chapo's head drug transporting guy said he built compartments on Amtrak cars to hide cocaine.
According to testimony and assistance given earlier this year & 2018 by El Chapo's 'train guru' Tirso Martinez Sanchez that designed the Sinaloa Cartel's prolific cocaine transportation network.
Martinez testified for the prosecution at the 2018 trial of Sinaloa Cartel leader Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman in Brooklyn Federal Court. He detailed how the narcotics were moved through Mexico into the USA he told jurors about how he designed train cars with compartments to hide cocaine and the way workers would add a few inches of oil into the trains to throw off drug-sniffing dogs.

I've been educated from pre-school to post graduate level, graduating summa cum laude from a tier 1 academic institution, all in the USA So I'm pretty sure my English comprehension skills are far superior to your own.
The most common questions are do you have anything to declare, where do you live, how long were you in Mexico, what were you doing in Mexico, where in the USA are you headed. Other questions may be asked like where do you work, is this your vehicle, how long have you owned your vehicle. They don't ask for you life story or how you ended up in CA or how you got the money to get here.
Passports show birth state. Mine says Montana. Several times that has drawn comment from a CBP agent, commenting that I was a long way from home. My reply is always that I was born in Montana, but I do not recall ever living there. As always, they are not looking for a correct answer, but rather how you answer.

AmorporFavor,
That's a good article.
It's well known that airlines, train and bus companies share their passengers manifests and intelligence with LE. DEA seized suspected cash from a lot of innocent people and rarely ever returned them unless victims file lawsuits in federal courts.
With federal court attorneys charging $600- $1,000 per hour, a simple, basic law suit would easily cost $100 K to $200 K, so the poor victims are fucked! Just be careful and don't get entangled with the laws. Lawyers and fucked up law enforcement.

I was born a lot further away than Montana and I've probably crossed that border close to 1000 times by now, and my birthplace has never drawn a comment.
And for you guys that are bringing up DEA and Amtrak, quit it with your pathetic attempts to prove me wrong for the first time. You guys are so desperate to prove me wrong, just once, that you're willing to ignore exactly what I wrote and just toss out anything and hoping that something sticks. Well, review what I wrote. I wrote that I agree that DEA works Amtrak and that busts do happen. So you guys are supporting my case, not disproving it. I wrote that busts do not happen on every single Amtrak ride. And no one's disproven that statement. So you guys fail again, have always failed, and always will fail, because I write nothing but the truth unlike a couple of others on this board.

Just not true.
As far as the border agents they come up with the crazy questions. One guy asked for my business card, last time they commented on my shoes. At that point I said respectively it is time for the inspection and interview to end. Another time they started asking about my golf clubs, this was in the secondary line. At that point I said, I need to go to work.

You always take the words I use, and turn it into different meaning. Like I can tell a DEA agent that I have a lawer, and you can rant how that's impossible for me to have a lawer. Most people in America know telling someone you have a lawer has nothing to do with having a lawer. Its a expression, essentially telling someone to take a hike. That doesn't mean hiking in mountains either. It means get lost, but not really lost, more like go away from me.

Sick of the HK bullshit
There has been some discussion on drink prices in LasChavelas these days. Well there is a coupon I use to buy a bucket of beers and receive a half price room at cascadas. If you plan on drinking its a great deal. I have used it many times, you pay $20 for 10 beers, get the coupon signed and it works great.
Well I tried it a week ago and they wanted $40 for a bucket. Even though right on the website it says beers in LC are $2 until 8 pm And it was will before 8 pm Of course I got nowhere. I heard everything from we are to busy to fix the website to there is no more LC this is HK 2. After trying to argue with all kinds of employees of course I got nowhere and gave up. Now I know why I hate the HK chain. And will continue to avoid them.

In this case Amtrak police. They do the same thing except DEA wears jeans and t shirt dresses like a slob so you don't see them coming. I told a 20 year old girl she doesn't have to let him look in her bag and he rushed at me ready to tackle me but I had never gotten up from my chair. Wanted to arrest me got in my face amusing me of interfering with police activity some bull crap. Wasn't my 1st bad encounter. I usually have the camera rolling when I see them coming. Its the same guys I know what they look like.

Essentially LC is gone, even the frumpy 40 pound overweight woman seem to be gone. It's just HK with a Mexican band which is still cool if you are into that.
