Tailors in Penom Penh
I tried searching, but couldn't find any info. I'll be coming to PNH in October, and usually get some shirts done in Bangkok. I'd prefer to keep the money in Cambodia if I can find a good quality/price in a local tailor.
If anyone has firsthand knowledge, I'd love to hear from them.

it is nice of you to take your money to Cambodia, but Bangkok really is the best place to get your tailored shirts done.

In reply to towoldse re thai v cambodian women,in my experience the cambodians are vastly different.
I,too have observed a community of thai women in australia for more than 25 years.I have seen amongst 95% of these women compulsive gambling, constant infidelity and shameful treatment of children.I know thai born kids in jail, dead from drug overdoses and some deportations.
I believe that the cambodians are missing many of the thai traits, some women gamble but the stakes are modest, they are less vain and self centred and less likely to blatantly lie.
In common with the thai is the responsability that they feel for the family and the family often take advantage of the working girl who has the capacity to earn good money.Less cambodian taxi girls have children, very few have tatoos and they spend far less on jewellry, makeup and their hair.
I took a cambodian girl to australia and the culture shock was as extreme as it is with a thai, they are not adaptable.
To me the cambodians character reflects their history of being sandwiched between the greedy thai and the voracious vietnamese.

Thanx man, just what I needed to hear, I think I will forfill my Cambodian "dream girl" and see what happend. My biggest problem amongst thai, is the lie and lie and lie. They soon forget what they lie about, so then come another lie. What can I expect from a Cambodian? You know? I am ready to help with family and all that, but I will not stand another lie. In my oppinion, I do not think Cambodian are the same as thai in this point. But what the hell do I know, I only been there for 3 days.

since the 1970`s this is what happend in Thailand, poor woman suddenly getting loads of money from sex tourist, and like you said there family`s take advantage of the girl which makes her act like she doe`s
Cambodia only came out of the Khmar Rouge since the 1970`s and is still developing, Cambodian goverment will not allow Gogo`s like Bangkok/pattaya, and of course you have vietnamese woman muscling in, in the night life
I have met a few cambodian woman that are a "little" like there Cambodian sisters, but you know, we all need to get money from somewere.
oh and by the way, i don`t have any money to go to SE asia next year, so if any mongers want to put a few thousand dollars my way, only joking mr jackson LOL.

Thai v Khmer
Generally speaking the Khmer people are more lay back and friendly than their thai counterparts, although they can get as pissed off as anyone can if you treat them badly. Acid attacks happen in Cambodia. We are all defined to a certain level by our experiances. Thailand was once a great place for a good genuine holiday. Times have changed for various reasons especially for mongers. The lies/scams are all to common. This is also true in Cambodia to a smaller extent. I have been lied to many times by girls but only the more harmless stuff like " I stay you long time ". This may/may not change in the futue as it did in Thailand. The common thread is they are all working girls with a limited time to make money. If you want a girl to marry then take your time and find yourself a non " working girl ".

Towoldse,
I read your post about the thai girls and your dream to get married to a Cambodian. I can only guess its a taxi girl of sorts since you only spent a few days here and are looking for a sex shop also. If you had a regular girl you would now teach her french kissing. From your thai experiences I deduct that you might not have the deepest understanding of the asian mentality and culture. Blaming everything on the thai liers is not the answer to your ignorance. The fact that you want to marry a girl you just met in April shows that you might not really know much about marriage and women in general. When people, and not just girls tell you things here the truth as you know it varies quite a bit. I find it hard to explain I've only been here 5 years myself but they have a different take on things like that. And not to screw you over necessarily. If you want to really be with them and enjoy it you have to be cool and learn how to be a player. Not just assume people are the same the world over. It is a very complex topic but to make it simple: you should not marry anybody unless you know them well, lets say 3 years or so and you know what you're getting into. On the other hand you should also understand that there has to be symmetry for it to work. If your girl is a lot younger and better looking than you you have to make up for it in cash. Take your time there is always a lot more where the last one came from. Avoid drama.

I only need shirts, nothing more. I'm going to be in PNH, and was planning on not going out of the country. I've been to HK before, and the hard sell tailors there are not of my liking. Maybe their product is fine, but I'll never know, since they they're so aggressive trying to get you in the door.
I'm looking for a local PNH tailor. Got a recommendation?

Yeah, I know, but I'd rather not pay $200 to fly to BKK, stay a few days to get $200 worth of shirts made. Especially with the dollar/baht ratio these days.
I always brough my repeat customers to tailors shops around independent manument along Sihanouk BLV. He's always satified with quality and prices. Everytimes he's in PP order 3suites, 10shirts, 3pants and 1 sarfary. So, I would like recomment that places to you. Sir.
Thank you! At least you didn't tell me to go to BKK! :)

My Report
I haven't been for a few months. But newbies to PP may be interested.
In Phnom Penh, this is my take after half-a-dozen trips (thanks to other posters who've sure helped me).
Stayed once in the place that used to be called the Sharaton Hotel (no relation to US chain. Name changed now anyway). Has a big gangster-style disco on main floor next to lobby. Really hot Vietnamese babes there waiting for the corrupt-rich-bureaucrat-son to arrive. Seriously. Body guards the lot. It's around the corner from what Phnom Penh. Needed ear plugs to sleep. But very GF.
Up side was I found a P4P girl at one of the bars on the roundabout by the what, took her back. Popped her twice that night. Sownside was I had be'fast with her and returned to the room to realise she stole the TV remote. Yes, the remote control for the TV. She seemed a reluctant shag. Maybe that's why she took an extra 'tip' on her way out the door. Also shows you how desparately poor some of these people are. I forget how much for LT but probably around 20USD
Another time I stayed at the Phnom penh Hotel. Quite an upmarket joint except for the Chinese sex tourists. Drunk, loud and spitting in the hallways. Sure there's where you want your tourism industry headed! Was with biz folks so didn't partake. I reckon it was GF though.
Another time I stayed at the Goldiana. A real fleebag used by NGO types etc. Had a VN girl from Martinis there. 20 USD LT. GF.
Sophies is the best though. Walk in sit down at the bar and they are giving you BBBJ at the bar and taking turns at it.
Chose two sisters! Yup. The palce had a side room. It was great. Hear it may be shut down. Check location on the other posts here.
Massage: Forget it. Unless others know better than me. You just get an expensive massage. Not worth it
