The funny thing is they seem to follow a set of rules. Never use any names all 3 start message Hi Hon (Never say your name)) then they always say
Dnt 4r get breakfast (or eat) Dnt forget to rest. The 3 of them mums are sick need money? Never answer any direct questions.
My Question Is there a book out there on how to handle punters and make money?
Call it "street wise". They have no other topic to talk with their friends how to hook a "poreigner". Just play along the same game:
"Oh hon, I just lost my job. No money now. Miss u"
"Honey take care god bless you. My Western Union is broke. Can not load"
But then, if its not a 10/10 super fucking star... why to keep them? They will move on and once you back its unlikely that you will meet one of them again.
You are mistaken to believe Japan is a tipping culture. Tipping has absolutely no place in Japan culture. Not for a single thing. Zilch! I have been living in Japan for 12 years and it is really easy in that regard.
I have Japanese friends always ask me before going abroad what they should do in terms of tips. So, the Japanese punters are doing what they believe is "done". They give big tips to keep face.
Hmm, perhaps you have misread my reply (or someone elses reply for mine?)as I never said Japanese is or is not a tipping culture-- the highlighted post only reflect what is commonly known that the Jap tend to tip and tip very well when they are out for P4P in many asian countries, especially in BKK where I frequent alot.
My own main comments were on proper tipping for the places I've recently been to, mainly Indonesia and Cambodia and PI.

Is this story true? It says a new shuttle service began in March linking the airport to Clark gate for only P30. How come I didn't see it on my last trip? It sure hell beats P300 for a taxi.
Seems the service is in full swing although I still don't know how they got around the taxi mafia over this route. The taxis were making a killing with their inflated rates to the airport for a 5 min ride.
Now can anyone post the operating hours for this new a/c airport shuttle service as I assume its not 24hrs. or is it?

From what I have heard, they have jeepnies meeting every scheduled flight into DMIA 24/7 to Main Gate and Dau bus terminal.
They also depart Dau for DMIA 2.5 hours before every scheduled flight picking up at Main Gate along the way.

DMIA Jeepneys
Flew into CRK from KUL last week and noticed the new a/cond jeepneys. Hopped into one of them together with 4 locals. The driver wanted to charge them 300 pesos to get to Dau although there were locals. I got off at SM terminal and contributed 100 pesos towards their fare. For me it was cheaper than taking a cab but I was surprised that he tried to squeeze his own kind!

Still the best option for cheap and fast is to go 300 meter further, just go out of the airport and hop into a jeepney.
10ps and you are at the main gate.
Cheers!

Cheers!
Damn I tried that once but made the mistake of doing it with full baggage load and flight landed at high noon in the PI sun. Man, that 300m (but I think its a bit more than that) felt like a full mile to me and the fare was much more than 10p from what I remember--perhaps they were charging me more due to luggage?
Now the return trip back to the airport from fields was a b**itch because the don't tell you where to get off (the gate with the airport guard post) and I had to travel well past the airport entrance just to get off (as I don't know exactly where the jeepneys last stop will be) and hop on another one back to the airport entrance.--oh well, live and learn.

Breaking the taxi mafia's hold 24/7: best news I heard in a while.
Almost as good as my own post about adjusting for inflation and exchange rates, I think it's actually Cheaper for FS now in AC than it was 15 years ago when I first visited. So party on while the goings good.

Agree with you, with heavy luggage it's not that smart.
But if you're just with a backpack like me usually, it's fine.
Thinking about it, okay, it might be a bit more than 300m. :)
Cheers!

Bro Hese,
more or less SOP, standard operating procedure,
but still 2 or 3 abnormal incidents.
I'll prepare it tomorrow on my flight back home,
bcoz now I need to take care of a 20y/o hottie.
:p :p :p

Cheers!
Yeah, tried that before and I think I even had change for 10 php.
For my return trip to DMIA, I managed to negotiate a 200 php fare from a taxi at the Main Gate Terminal. On the way to the airport, the driver asked me to settle the normal 300 php fare in full. When I said that I am left with only 200php, he drove me to a petrol station along the route to change my USD. He refused to move if I didn't do so. Who knows? Worse things could have happened!
That was a frightening experience for me. Nowadays, I usually ask my hotel to get a car for me and I don't mind paying the standard 300 php for peace of mind.
P.S. The a/c jeepney is a good idea. Aren't the authorities checking the operation to make sure that it functions as it should?
