It has always meant a quick one pop session and they leave afterward. One hour has always been used as a frame of reference for you to understand that you have some time for chit-chat but to keep it brief, get your nut and let them go. If you nut quickly, they leave. If you take too long to get the action started, they will push you to make a move. Long-time has always meant a longer session without major time limits where you can wine and dine, get multiple shots, and expect them to stick around a bit. This isn't the west where women give you companionship for a specified time (by-product of skirting legal laws). This is a place where you're paying for sex and they are selling sex out in the open so there is no need to beat around the Bush with stuff like time limits. The Mercure would be too far for them. I would walk up to corner of Soi 13 from Thermae (at 2 minutes) and Suk and grab a taxi or tuk tuk to the hotel. Soi 13 connects with a side Soi to Soi 11 further up.
